5mm sewing feet

5mm describes the machine's stitch-width format. Match the foot's attachment and the exact model as well. A 5mm label does not mean the finished seam is 5mm wide.

7mm sewing feet

Many Brother accessories suit 7mm machines, but some need a particular holder or adapter. Check the model list and permitted stitches on the individual foot.

PQ straight stitch

PQ presser feet and bobbins have their own fitting requirements. Choose the documented PQ accessory for your exact machine.

Overlocker & coverstitch

Match the complete model. An accessory for a 2340CV is not automatically suitable for a CV3440 or CV3550. Knives and plates also need the correct part reference.

Embroidery & hoops

Check the hoop mount, supported embroidery area and any required software upgrade. Magnetic hoops also need the correct brackets. Nominal hoop size can differ from usable sewing area.

ScanNCut CM or DX

Match your machine generation before choosing a mat, blade or holder. Some supplies work across generations; others are CM-only or DX-only. Check kit and software requirements too.

Questions customers often ask

Will any low-shank foot fit my Brother?

Low shank describes one part of the fitting. You still need the correct stitch-width format, foot holder, needle clearance and machine approval. Some accessories need an adapter. Use the exact model list on the product page.

Are all Brother bobbins the same?

No. Brother uses different bobbin specifications, including 11.5mm plastic bobbins and other sizes or metal bobbins for particular machines. Match the type in your machine manual. A similar-looking bobbin is not enough.

My model is older or missing. What should I do?

Send Direct Sewing the full model number, the part number if you have it, and a photo of the original part. The finder includes documented current and older models, but is not a complete record of every regional machine.

How do I identify a genuine Brother accessory?

Read the product's brand and description. This range includes Brother products and clearly identified third-party options such as Towa, Sewtech, Prym and Mighty Hoop. A cross-reference number describes a possible replacement and does not change the manufacturer.
