Choosing a Singer machine and compatible accessories

Which Singer sewing machine suits my projects?

Start with the fabrics, seam types and projects you plan to sew. Mechanical models offer direct stitch controls for everyday sewing, while computerised models can add a wider stitch selection and functions such as needle positioning or thread cutting. Compare each model's actual features and included accessories.

Is a Singer Heavy Duty machine industrial?

Domestic Heavy Duty models are designed for home sewing with added strength and speed. An industrial machine is a separate category, usually built around a specific operation and supplied as a dedicated workstation. For regular production or substantial material layers, ask us to match a machine to a sample of your work.

Do I need an overlocker or an embroidery machine?

An overlocker sews and finishes fabric edges, usually trimming the seam allowance as it works. An embroidery machine stitches designs within a hoop; sewing-and-embroidery combination models also handle ordinary sewing. Check hoop size, design-transfer options and whether embroidery software is needed for your artwork.

How do I choose a Singer bobbin, needle, foot or part?

Use the exact machine model and, where available, the original part number. Singer machines use different bobbin classes, needle systems, foot fittings and electrical connectors. Match the bobbin class and material to the manual, and check both the foot fitting and stitch width.
