Which rotary cutter size should I choose?
45mm is a versatile starting point for everyday patchwork and straight fabric cuts. Smaller 18mm and 28mm cutters offer more control around tight curves and small pieces. A 60mm cutter gives a larger blade for longer cuts and suitable fabric stacks; the usable number of layers depends on the cutter and material.
Choose a handle you can control comfortably
Compare the standard, quick-change and ergonomic handles rather than choosing by colour alone. Look at how the blade retracts or locks, how it is changed and whether the specific model supports your preferred cutting hand. Follow the manufacturer's setup instructions before using it left-handed.
Straight cuts and circles are different jobs
