Repeat production work
A coated surface can be useful where wear is a recurring consideration. Include needle condition in normal quality checks, especially at the point and eye.
Size-matched repairs
Match replacement needles to the confirmed machine setup. If changing thread or fabric weight, sew a new sample instead of assuming the old size remains suitable.

Before you start
- Check the machine’s complete needle system and size range. Choose the point and size for your fabric and thread.
- Switch off and isolate the machine as instructed. Install the needle fully, in the orientation specified by the manual.
- Sew a sample with the intended layers and thread. Check stitch formation and fabric marking before continuing.
Only sharp-point options are offered here. GEBEDUR does not turn this into a ballpoint, a leather-cutting needle or a domestic flat-shank needle.
Good to know
Is DBx1 interchangeable with DPx5?
No. Treat them as different systems even when both ranges list the same size. Use the designation required by the exact machine model.
When should a coated needle be changed?
Replace it when it is bent, damaged or causing problems linked to its condition. A wear-resistant coating does not justify continuing with a faulty needle.
