Schmetz Super Stretch needles combine a medium ball point with an enlarged eye, wider thread groove and specialised blade and shank design. They help form stitches in highly elastic fabrics while accommodating suitable thicker sewing threads. Choose between 75/11 and 90/14 for the knit, thread and layers you plan to sew.

Before you start
- Check machine compatibility and select 75/11 or 90/14 to suit the intended fabric and thread.
- Switch off, install the needle fully and thread the machine according to its instructions.
- Test with a suitable stretch stitch, checking both stitch formation and the seam's movement before construction.
Schmetz specifies this type for household machines using 130/705 H and some overlockers. For an overlocker, confirm HAx1 SP suitability in its own manual.

How does it differ from the ordinary Stretch needle?
Super Stretch adds an enlarged eye, wider groove and reinforced blade design, making it useful with suitable thicker threads.
Is it an ELx705 replacement?
Not automatically. Those are different needle specifications; use the system recommended for the exact machine rather than choosing by fabric alone.
