Schmetz DCx1 F needles are designed for overlockers that specifically call for this special system. Their shortened flat shank, reinforced blade and second thread groove distinguish them from visually similar needles. Choose a pack of ten in 75/11 or 90/14 to suit the thread and material being sewn.

Neatening fabric edges
A fresh matching needle is useful when trimming and overcasting garment edges. Check the finished edge for balanced stitching and unwanted marking on a scrap first.
Lighter or heavier work
The two size choices let you adjust the needle to the project within your machine’s permitted range. A larger size is not automatically better for difficult stitching.

Before you start
- Find the complete DCx1 F designation in your machine instructions; the final F is part of the system.
- Switch off and install the needle to the specified depth and orientation. Re-thread the needle path as required.
- Test the intended fabric, thread and seam layers. Check stitch formation before working on the garment.
DCx1 F is not ordinary round-shank DCx1 and is not a universal household 130/705 H needle.
Good to know
Why does the F matter?
It identifies the special flat-shank design. Leaving it out can lead to ordering a different needle system.
Is this a dedicated ballpoint needle?
No. Schmetz specifies a slightly rounded point for DCx1 F, rather than an SES light ballpoint or SUK medium ballpoint.
