Frame or sit-down longarm quilting?

With a frame-mounted longarm, the quilt is supported on the frame and you guide the machine over it. With a sit-down machine, the machine stays still and you move the quilt by hand. Both are dedicated quilting systems; keep your sewing machine for piecing and everyday sewing.

Find a package for your space

• Handi Quilter Moxie 15: a 15-inch throat with stitch regulation. Choose the 8ft Loft Frame 2 package or the more compact Little Foot frame package.
• Handi Quilter Moxie XL: an 18-inch throat, available with a Loft frame or Little Foot frame. A step up in working space from the Moxie 15.
• Handi Quilter Amara 20: a 20-inch throat with a Studio 3 frame. Confirm the frame configuration and room requirements when requesting a quote.
• Handi Quilter Amara ST: a 20-inch sit-down machine with an HQ Lift or InSight table and built-in InSight stitch regulation. Guide the quilt yourself; this is not a Pro-Stitcher automation package.
• Handi Quilter Forte 24: a 24-inch throat with a 12ft Gallery 2 frame for a larger dedicated quilting workspace. Optional Pro-Stitcher automation is available separately.
• Janome Quilt Maker Pro: compare the 18-inch QMP18 and 20-inch QMP20. Both listings include a frame configurable at 4ft, 8ft or 12ft and an independent bobbin winder.

Measure before you choose: throat size is not the same as usable quilting area. Allow space around the frame or table for loading the quilt, movement and access. A nominal frame length is not the full room footprint.

Adding computer-guided quilting

Pro-Stitcher is an optional automation upgrade, not a complete quilting machine. Choose the version specified for your machine: Pro-Stitcher Lite for Moxie 15 or Moxie XL, or the appropriate Premium package for compatible Handi Quilter frame machines. The Janome QMP18 robotics listing is for the QMP18, not the QMP20. Check what is included before ordering.

Use the shortcuts above for rulers and ruler bases, quilting feet, needles and bobbins, frame accessories and care essentials. Match the exact machine and frame to the product listing: a ruler base, foot, rear-handle kit or castor set is not automatically interchangeable across the range.
