Do not mix needle systems by appearance alone
Interchangeable tips, cables, keys, connectors and stoppers are system-specific. Similar-looking threads or joins are not proof of compatibility.

What is the best knitting needle set for a beginner?

Are interchangeable knitting needle sets worth it?

Should I choose metal, wood or bamboo knitting needles?

What is the difference between 10cm and 13cm interchangeable tips?

Can I mix knitting needle tips and cables from different brands?

Which needle size should I use for my yarn?
Begin with the size specified in the knitting pattern, then knit and measure a tension swatch. The yarn label provides a useful range, but your personal tension and the fabric the pattern requires determine whether you should move up or down a needle size.
Are DPNs or Shorties better for socks and sleeves?
Both can work well. DPNs divide stitches across several needles and offer broad size choice; Shorties use a compact circular setup with fewer loose needles. The better choice is the technique that feels most secure and comfortable in your hands.
