True 40cm setup
Pair either included 20cm cable with the 10cm tips for hats, sleeves and other small-circumference projects.
ChiaoGoo’s 7400-S combines seven 10cm stainless-steel tip pairs with four Small [S] red cables—including two short 20cm cables. Build an approximately 40cm circular for hats, sleeves, cowls and baby knits, then switch cables as your project grows.
Short + manoeuvrable
The 10cm tip length is the defining difference. It allows the two tips and a 20cm cable to curve into an approximately 40cm circular—something the longer 13cm tips in the 7500-S cannot comfortably do.
Finely tapered lace points help with decreases, cables and detailed stitches. The satin-finished surgical stainless steel offers smooth glide, while the red nylon-coated steel-core cables resist coiling and kinking.
Pair either included 20cm cable with the 10cm tips for hats, sleeves and other small-circumference projects.
Keep two 40cm circular projects active, or use the second 20cm cable as a ready spare.
Add the missing 3mm tips, extra Small cables or other matching ChiaoGoo components as your project collection grows.
Each metric size below represents one matching pair.
10cm surgical stainless-steel lace tips in the exact 2.75–5mm sizes shown above.
Two 20cm cables plus one 35cm and one 55cm cable, all with Small [S] joins.
Join compatible Small cables together when extra project length is useful.
Secure live stitches on a cable when removing the tips or storing a project.
Use a T-key through the cable-end hole for leverage when securing the threaded join.
Twelve stitch markers, a needle gauge and compact zippered floral fabric case complete the set.
ChiaoGoo measures interchangeable cables without the tips. Attach the included 10cm tips to each cable for these approximate finished lengths.
| Cable alone | Quantity | Approx. finished circular | Useful for |
|---|---|---|---|
| 20cm / 8 inches | 2 | 40cm / 16 inches | Hats, sleeves, cowls and other compact rounds |
| 35cm / 14 inches | 1 | 56cm / 22 inches | Cowls, baby garments and smaller project sections |
| 55cm / 22 inches | 1 | 76cm / 30 inches | Garments, shawls and longer-loop techniques |
This is the official 7400-S configuration. It lets you keep two short circular projects ready at once, or retain a second 20cm cable as a spare. Every included cable uses the Small [S] connection.
Work smaller tubular pieces without the excess cable loop created by a longer circular needle.
Set advantage: two separate 20cm cables. The short tips and compact cable make small rounds easier to turn while the longer cables support growing sections.
Tip advantage: a manoeuvrable 10cm handhold.Use the 76cm assembled circular when that length suits your shawl, flat knitting or preferred small-circumference technique.
Range advantage: seven sizes from 2.75–5mm.
Use Small [S] cables and accessories with every tip in this set; MINI and Large parts do not connect directly.
Screw the tip and cable together gently, taking care not to cross-thread or force the precision metal connection.
Place a T-key through the cable-end lifeline hole for leverage and give the tip a secure final hand-tightening.

Two short cables let you keep two approximately 40cm circular setups active, or retain one as a spare. This is the official cable configuration for the 7400-S.
Yes. Attach a pair of included 10cm tips to either 20cm cable to make an approximately 40cm circular needle.
Small identifies the threaded connection size used by all seven included tips and all four included cables. MINI [M] and Large [L] parts do not connect directly without the appropriate adapter.
Choose 10cm tips for a shorter, more manoeuvrable handhold and the ability to make 40cm circulars. Choose the 13cm 7500-S if you prefer a longer grip and mainly use circulars of approximately 60cm or longer.
Choose 7400-S when 2.75–5mm covers most of your knitting. Choose a Complete set when you also want 5.5–10mm tips and the matching Large [L] cables and accessories.
Yes, when one of the longer included cables gives you enough loop for your project and technique. The 7400-S is especially valuable for standard short-circular knitting.
Thread waste yarn through the cable-end hole before knitting across the row so the cable carries it through the live stitches. The same hole accepts a T-key when tightening the join.
ChiaoGoo says TWIST and SPIN tips, cables and accessories are switchable when the join size matches. Use Small [S] components with this set.
Add the 7400-S set above, or compare the longer-tip and Complete alternatives before deciding.
