Match system and cutting point
LR / R TW and D / TRI make different incisions and seam appearances. Choose the system required by your machine and the point suited to the material and seam. On the 190 listing, select Leather for 190 LR; Sharp is the 190 R cloth-point option.
Test the leather and stitch spacing
Cutting points make permanent holes and can sever woven or knitted yarns. Test the actual leather, thread and full seam, including reverse stitching. Avoid assuming that a larger needle or denser stitch makes a stronger seam; remain within the machine capacity and assess the finished holes and stitching.
