A triangular cutting point for firm leather.
Schmetz 135x8 TRI / 134 D needles have a triangular cutting point for suitable hard or dry leather. This is a leather-cutting design, not a general-purpose sharp cloth needle. Choose from three sizes for a machine that specifies this system, with ten needles supplied in each selected pack.

Leather components
Use for compatible-machine stitching of appropriate leather parts and accessories. The triangular incision remains visible, so assess how it looks with your chosen thread.
Comparing seam appearance
Choose the cutting point as well as the size when planning visible leather stitching. D / TRI produces a different incision from the reverse-twist LR point.

Before you start
- Confirm the machine’s needle system, then select the size for the intended leather, thread and seam.
- Switch off and fit the needle in the specified orientation. Set stitch spacing appropriate to the material.
- Sew a sample and inspect the holes, thread and seam, including any backtacking, before starting the finished piece.
Do not use a triangular leather cutting point as a general needle for woven or knitted fabrics; it can cut their yarns.
Good to know
The selector says Sharp. What is the point?
This product is the 135x8 TRI / 134 D triangular leather cutting-point needle. Sharp is not a separate round-point choice here.
Can I repeatedly stitch over the same line?
Use care. Leather cutting points can damage existing thread when backtacking or resewing; test the planned seam and reinforcement method.
