The right kind of walking foot matters. This model uses dual feed, with the feed dog and alternating presser feet moving the work. It is not described as needle feed or compound feed. If your work regularly requires the needle to travel with the material, compare it with a true compound-feed machine.

Specialist limits still apply. This is a flat-bed straight-stitch machine. It does not zigzag, overlock, sew around narrow tubular items like a cylinder-bed machine, or replace a heavy leather stitcher for rigid saddlery and very dense stacks.
