The SY7713 system for compatible carpet edging.
Schmetz SY7713 / DK2500 needles are intended for carpet overlockers that specify this industrial system. Choose 200/25 or 230/26 to suit the machine, thread and carpet edge construction. These are dedicated carpet-machine needles, not general heavy-duty sewing needles chosen simply because they are large.

Before you start
- Confirm SY7713 / DK2500 for your exact machine and choose a size within its permitted range.
- Switch off and install the needle as the machine manual directs, checking orientation and seating.
- Test the intended carpet and thread combination. Check the complete edge, including backing penetration and the finished stitch.
A larger needle size does not confirm machine fit. Do not substitute this system for another carpet needle solely because both are 200/25.

Should I choose 200/25 or 230/26?
