Premium electronic coverlock machine
Thread the loopers with air. Finish garments from seam to hem.
The PFAFF® admire™ air 7000 combines overlocking, coverstitch and chainstitch sewing in one advanced machine, with one-touch electronic air threading, touchscreen guidance and automatic tension settings.
A complete garment-finishing system
Overlock, coverstitch and chainstitch capability in one machine
Designed for sewists who want professional-looking seams and hems without maintaining separate overlocker and coverstitch machines, the admire air 7000 handles a broad range of construction, finishing and decorative techniques.
Overlock sewing
Sew, trim and neaten raw edges in one operation. Use overlock stitches for knit construction, woven seam finishing, rolled hems, flatlock effects and tidy internal garment finishes.
Coverstitch sewing
Create flexible, professional hems like those found on ready-to-wear T-shirts, leggings and activewear. Choose narrow, wide or three-needle coverstitch configurations to suit the project.
Chainstitch sewing
Produce a strong, flexible two-thread chainstitch for construction, topstitching, decorative work and techniques where greater stretch is needed than a conventional lockstitch provides.
One-touch electronic air threading
Thread the loopers at the push of a button
Place the looper threads into the colour-coded air ports and press the electronic threading button. Air carries the threads through the enclosed looper channels, reducing the most time-consuming part of setting up a coverlock machine.
- Electronic air threading for the machine loopers
- Colour-coded threading paths support correct setup
- Helpful when changing thread colours or stitch types
- Enclosed looper paths help keep threading straightforward
- Supplied needle-threading tool assists with threading the needles
Touchscreen-guided setup
Select the stitch and let the machine establish the starting settings
The 3.4-inch colour touchscreen presents the chosen stitch clearly and helps guide the setup. The admire air 7000 automatically establishes the optimal thread tensions, recommended stitch length and other starting settings for the selected stitch.
- Visual stitch and threading information on screen
- Electronically controlled automatic thread tension
- Settings can be adjusted for specialised fabrics and threads
- Save preferred adjustments in up to 30 stitch memories
- Five selectable maximum-speed settings
Automatic settings provide an excellent starting point. Fine adjustments may still be useful when working with unusually fine, heavy, textured or decorative threads.
26 utility and decorative stitches
Choose the finish your garment needs
Two-, three-, four- and five-thread configurations provide options for fine edge finishing, secure seam construction, stretch hems and decorative effects.
| Stitch family | What it does | Typical uses |
|---|---|---|
| Five-thread safety stitch | Combines a chainstitch seam with overlocked edge finishing in one pass. | Secure garment construction, workwear-style seams and woven fabrics. |
| Four-thread overlock | Creates a strong, flexible overlocked seam with integrated edge trimming. | T-shirts, knit dresses, activewear, children’s clothing and stretch seams. |
| Three-thread overlock | Provides a balanced edge finish with narrow and wide options. | Neatening woven seams, lightweight construction and decorative edging. |
| Two-thread finishes | Uses fewer threads for fine overedge, flatlock and rolled-edge techniques. | Lightweight fabrics, decorative work and low-bulk finishes. |
| Coverstitches | Creates narrow, wide and three-needle coverstitch hems with stretch. | T-shirt hems, leggings, sportswear, binding and decorative topstitching. |
| Chainstitch | Produces a flexible two-thread seam without trimming the fabric edge. | Construction, topstitching, basting and decorative stitching. |
| Rolled hems and flatlock | Creates fine wrapped edges or flat decorative seam effects. | Scarves, ruffles, lightweight garments, sportswear and feature seams. |

The admire air 7000 is designed to make demanding garment-finishing work more comfortable and controlled, whether you are sewing slowly around a neckline or finishing a long seam at speed.
- Five LED lights illuminate the sewing area
- Up to 1,300 stitches per minute
- Five maximum-speed settings for better control
- Included knee lift leaves both hands free to guide the fabric

Fabric control

Adjustable presser-foot pressure
Change the pressure applied to the fabric to improve feeding across lightweight jerseys, stable wovens, dense knits and bulky intersecting seams.
Adjustable stitch length and cutting width
Match the stitch formation and trimmed seam allowance to the fabric, thread and finish required by the project.
Movable upper knife
Engage the upper knife when trimming and overlocking an edge, or move it out of the way for coverstitch, chainstitch and techniques where the fabric should not be cut.

Frequently asked questions
PFAFF admire air 7000 FAQs
What is a combination coverlock machine?
A combination coverlock machine provides overlock, coverstitch and chainstitch functions in one unit. It can trim and finish raw edges, create stretch cover hems and sew chainstitch or five-thread safety seams.
Does the air-threading system thread every thread?
No. The one-touch electronic air system threads the machine’s loopers. The needle threads are inserted separately, with assistance from the supplied needle-threading tool.
Can the admire air 7000 overlock and coverstitch?
Yes. It can perform overlock, coverstitch and chainstitch sewing. Changing between functions requires the correct needle positions, threading and machine setup for the selected stitch.
What does the touchscreen control?
The colour touchscreen lets you select a stitch and view setup guidance. The machine establishes optimal thread tensions, recommended stitch length and other starting settings, which can then be adjusted when required.
What is the advantage of a five-thread safety stitch?
A five-thread safety stitch combines a chainstitch construction seam with an overlocked edge. This creates a secure seam and a finished raw edge in one operation, particularly useful for woven garments.
Which fabrics can the admire air 7000 sew?
It is suited to a wide range of knit, stretch and woven fabrics, including jersey, rib knit, ponte, sweatshirt fleece, activewear fabrics and many lightweight or medium-weight wovens. Correct needle, thread and machine settings remain important.
What does differential feed do?
Differential feed changes how the front and rear feed dogs move the fabric. It can help prevent stretched, wavy knit seams or puckering on fine fabrics, and it can also be used to create gathering effects.
Does automatic tension mean I never need to adjust it?
The machine automatically establishes suitable tension settings for the selected stitch. However, fine adjustment can still improve results when using specialised fabrics, unusually heavy or lightweight materials, or decorative threads.
Which needles does the PFAFF admire air 7000 use?
The machine uses ELx705 system needles. Needle size and point should be selected to match the fabric being sewn.
Can the admire air 7000 replace a normal sewing machine?
No. It complements a conventional sewing machine by providing professional seam finishing, stretch hems and chainstitch functions. A standard sewing machine is still required for regular lockstitch sewing, zips, buttonholes and many construction techniques.
Is the admire air 7000 an industrial machine?
No. It is a premium domestic coverlock machine designed for advanced home sewing, garment studios and education. Businesses requiring continuous high-volume production should discuss an industrial machine solution with Direct Sewing.
What support is available from Direct Sewing?
Direct Sewing provides machine advice, setup guidance, after-sales assistance and local servicing from its Henderson, Auckland store. The team can also help with suitable needles, thread and accessories.
