Choose your diameter from 3mm to 8mm and receive one matching pair of 13cm KnitPro Zing interchangeable needle tips. Their lightweight aluminium bodies, tapered silver-coloured points and colour-coded finishes make it easy to add a missing size, replace a favourite pair or expand an existing KnitPro cable system.
1 matching pair / 2 tips in the size selected above.
13cm / 5in normal length for versatile 60cm and longer circulars.
12 size options from 3.00mm to 8.00mm.
Colour-coded aluminium with precise tips and clear size markings.
Select one size and receive one matching pair of tips
This is a size-selectable replacement or expansion pair. It is not a complete needle set, and it does not become a circular needle until a compatible KnitPro cable is attached.
Example: select 4.00mm
You receive two 13cm Zing tips, each measuring 4.00mm in diameter. Screw one tip onto each end of a separately purchased KnitPro cable to create a complete circular needle.
You do not receive twelve sizes, a cable, a tightening key, end caps, yarn or a pattern.
1 pair
Two matching tips
The chosen size controls both tips. The pair shares a colour-coded finish associated with that diameter.
Cable required: if you do not already own a compatible KnitPro cable, add one separately before beginning your project.
The bright metal member of the KnitPro family
Why knitters choose Zing tips
Zing combines a smooth aluminium working surface with an individual colour for each size. It is a practical choice for knitters who like metal glide, clear visual organisation and the freedom to pair one needle size with several cable lengths.
Smooth lightweight aluminium
The metal surface lets stitches move readily while keeping the assembled circular lighter than many solid metal alternatives.
Colour-coded sizes
Each diameter has its own finish, helping you identify frequently used sizes at a glance before confirming the marking.
Tapered silver-coloured tips
The shaped points support accurate stitch entry across everyday knitting, texture, shaping and suitable lace patterns.
Personal preference matters: aluminium generally allows faster stitch movement than wood, but the feel will vary with yarn fibre, tension and knitting style.
See the size-coded Zing finish
Every diameter has its own colour
The 3.00mm pair shows the slim aluminium body, shaped point and threaded cable connector. The 5.00mm pair uses a different finish, making the size easier to recognise in a mixed needle case. The 8.00mm pair shows how the same Zing construction continues through the larger size range.
Photo and selection: the hero image may show a different diameter from the one you need. The size chosen in the product selector determines the pair supplied.

Pattern first: yarn labels such as 4 ply, DK, worsted and chunky do not dictate one universal needle size. Begin with the pattern's metric recommendation and use a prepared swatch to check gauge and fabric.
Complete the circular with a separate cable
Pair 13cm tips with the right finished length
KnitPro cable packaging states the approximate finished point-to-point circular length after both compatible tips are attached. The bare cable is shorter than the number on the packet.
13cm normal tips are best suited to 60cm and longer finished circulars
60cm is a useful starting length for many hats, sleeves and smaller pieces
80cm suits many garment bodies, cowls and magic loop applications
100cm and longer support broad rows, larger projects and magic loop
The cable determines whether the assembled circular has a fixed or swivel connection
Useful finished circular lengths
60cmApprox. 24in point to point
80cmApprox. 32in point to point
100cm+Approx. 40in and longer
Need a 40cm or 50cm circular? Choose the separate Zing 10cm Special tips. Their shorter shafts allow the cable to bend into a compact circle more comfortably.
Use suitable lengths for seamless bodies, yokes, cardigans, panels and sleeves as the pattern directs.
Hats and cowls
Match the finished cable length to the circumference or use a longer cable for a loop method.
Shawls and scarves
Turn at the end of every row while the cable supports the growing stitch count and fabric.
Blankets and broad rows
Select a longer cable to hold more stitches and let the project rest closer to your lap.
Circular needles are not only for circles: they work well for flat knitting. Simply turn the work at the end of every row as you would with straight needles.

Normal, Special or Mini?
This product
13cm Normal tips
A full-size handhold for 60cm and longer finished circulars. Available here from 3.00mm to 8.00mm.
10cm Special tips
Shorter shafts intended for compact 40cm and 50cm finished circulars, as well as knitters who prefer a shorter grip.
5cm Mini tips
A specialised short format used with matching mini cable arrangements for very small circumferences.
Length and diameter are separate choices: 13cm describes the shaft format. The selected 3.00mm to 8.00mm measurement describes the needle diameter that controls stitch size and gauge.
A useful pair for building or expanding a system
Are these the right tips for you?
A particularly good choice if you...
Want one specific size rather than a complete set
Already own compatible KnitPro cables
Prefer the glide of smooth aluminium
Like colour-coded size organisation
Need an extra pair for another work in progress
Use 60cm or longer finished circulars
Knit both flat and in the round
Consider another product if you...
Need a cable included with your first purchase
Want several tip sizes together in a case
Need a compact 40cm or 50cm finished circular
Prefer the grip and warmth of wood
Need a size below 3mm or above 8mm
Want a permanently attached fixed circular
Need a very small-circumference mini system
Four steps from parts to project
How to assemble the circular securely
Select size and length
Choose the pattern's metric tip diameter and a compatible KnitPro cable in the required finished point-to-point length.
Screw on both tips
Turn each tip onto a cable end by hand until the threaded connection sits together neatly.
Use the cable key
Insert the key supplied with the cable and give each join a firm final hand-tighten. Do not use pliers.
Check as you knit
Confirm the joins before casting on and retighten by hand if a connection begins to develop movement.
Cable accessories: KnitPro cables are normally packaged with two end caps and a cable key. Those accessories belong to the separately sold cable, not to this pair of tips.
Simple care for aluminium and threaded joins
Protect the smooth finish and connection
Wipe clean and dry
Use a soft dry or lightly damp cloth, then dry fully before returning the tips to storage.
Keep the threads clean
Remove fibres from the threaded connection and never force a tip that does not begin screwing on smoothly.
Store without impact
Keep matching pairs together in a case and protect the points from drops, deep scratches and pressure.

Questions before selecting your pair?
KnitPro Zing 13cm tip FAQs
How many needle tips do I receive?
You receive one matching pair, meaning two individual 13cm tips in the one diameter selected.
Does this product include a cable?
No. A compatible KnitPro cable is required and sold separately.
Is this a full interchangeable needle set?
No. This listing is for one pair in one selected size. Multi-size Zing sets are separate products.
What does 13cm describe?
It is KnitPro's normal tip length, measured from the needle point to the metal connector. It does not describe the finished circular length or needle diameter.
Which sizes are available?
The current product selector covers twelve sizes from 3.00mm to 8.00mm.
What are Zing tips made from?
They are made from lightweight aluminium with colour-coded bodies and silver-coloured points and connectors.
Why does each size have a different colour?
The colour system helps distinguish diameters in a mixed collection. Always confirm the size marking or use a needle gauge before starting a project.
Will these fit my KnitPro cables?
KnitPro states that its interchangeable tips are compatible with KnitPro interchangeable cables. Do not assume compatibility with another brand unless that manufacturer confirms it.
Can I use a swivel cable?
Yes, when it uses the compatible KnitPro interchangeable connection. The separately selected cable determines whether the assembled circular has fixed or swivel action.
Can these make a 40cm circular?
The 13cm normal tips are not the intended choice for an ordinary compact 40cm circular. Choose the separate 10cm Zing Special tips for 40cm and 50cm finished lengths.
How is cable length measured?
KnitPro states cable size as the approximate finished point-to-point circular length after both compatible tips are attached. The bare cable is therefore shorter than its stated finished length.
Can I knit flat with these tips?
Yes. Once attached to a cable, turn the work at the end of every row. The cable holds the stitches and growing project.
Can I use them for magic loop?
Yes, with a sufficiently long and flexible compatible cable. The exact length depends on project size, stitch count and personal technique.
Are aluminium tips slippery?
Aluminium generally provides quicker stitch movement than wood, but the result depends on yarn fibre, tension and the knitter. Choose the surface feel that suits your work.
Does the selected colour control the size?
Select by the metric diameter. The colour is associated with that size, but the written size and SKU are the reliable ordering identifiers.
How do I stop the tips unscrewing?
Use the key supplied with the cable to give each join a firm final hand-tighten. Check the connections periodically and never use pliers or excessive force.
How should I choose a size for my yarn?
Begin with the pattern's metric recommendation, make a useful swatch and adjust the needle diameter if required to achieve gauge and the intended fabric.
How should I care for the tips?
Keep them clean and dry, protect the points and finish, store matching pairs together and keep the threaded connections free from fibres and debris.
