Cable + 2 Caps + Key
One complete cable pack in your selected length
Choose one of the six length options. Each quantity supplies one fixed nylon cable plus the two useful accessories needed to secure the tips and hold your work.
Screw them onto the cable after removing the tips to keep live stitches safely in place.
Insert the key into the tightening hole to gain leverage and secure the tip-to-cable connection.
Add one pair of compatible KnitPro interchangeable needle tips in the diameter your pattern requires.
Choose the finished circular length, not the bare cable length
KnitPro names each cable by the nominal total length achieved after compatible interchangeable tips are attached. The physical cable in the packet is therefore shorter than the length shown in the variant menu.

Six lengths, each easy to identify in your project bag

A practical cable guide for common knitting projects
Useful for compatible hats, sleeves, baby knits, children's garments and narrow cowls. The 40cm cable requires 10cm Special tips.
A versatile choice for yokes, sleeves, cowls and smaller garment sections when the circumference suits.
A popular size for adult sweater bodies, shawls and many pieces worked flat on circular needles.
Useful for larger garments, growing shawls, magic loop and projects with a generous stitch count.
Suited to blankets, broad shawls, large flat pieces and rows with hundreds of stitches.
Interchangeable circulars can work back and forth in rows, with the cable carrying the weight of the project.
Mix cable lengths and tip materials with confidence
KnitPro interchangeable cables are designed to work across the KnitPro interchangeable system. That lets you choose the needle material and diameter you enjoy, then add the cable length required by the project.

Choose the length
Select the finished circular length required by your pattern, not the shorter physical cable measurement.
Screw on the tips
Start each KnitPro tip straight and turn it onto the threaded join by hand until it is finger tight.
Use the key
Insert the included cable key into the metal join's tightening hole and use it for leverage while securing the tip.
Check the join
Confirm both connections are firm and smooth before casting on, then recheck occasionally during a long project.
Turn the cable into a secure stitch holder
When you need the needle tips elsewhere, move the stitches fully onto the cable, unscrew the tips and attach an end cap to each side. Your live stitches stay together while the tips are free for another cable or project.
Keep live stitches safely on the cable between knitting sessions.
Move frequently used tip sizes to another project without transferring every stitch.
Use a suitable longer cable and end caps to give top-down garments room for a careful fitting.
Colour coding helps identify which finished length is holding each work in progress.
Keep the join clean, straight and ready to use
Clean the nylon with a soft, lightly damp cloth, then dry it before storage.
Avoid sharp folds or crushing the cable beneath heavy tools. Use a cable organiser where possible.
Connect and disconnect at the metal end. Do not pull or twist the nylon itself.
Remove lint from the threaded ends and start every connection straight to protect the join.

KnitPro Coloured Nylon Cable FAQs
What is included in one pack?
Each selected variant contains one coloured nylon cable, two screw-on end caps and one cable tightening key.
Are needle tips included?
No. Choose a pair of KnitPro interchangeable needle tips separately in the diameter required by your pattern.
Is the selected length the measurement of the cable by itself?
No. KnitPro lists the nominal finished circular length achieved after compatible needle tips are attached. The cable itself is shorter.
How long is the cable inside a 40cm pack?
The physical cable is 20cm long and is designed to create a nominal 40cm circular with KnitPro 10cm Special interchangeable tips.
Which tips should I use for a 40cm circular?
Use KnitPro 10cm Special interchangeable tips. Standard 13cm tips are too long for a comfortable 40cm circular setup.
Can I use 13cm tips with these cables?
Yes for suitable lengths. Standard 13cm tips are commonly used for 60cm and longer circulars. For compact 40cm circulars, choose 10cm Special tips.
Will these cables fit all KnitPro interchangeable needle ranges?
Yes. KnitPro states that its cables are compatible across its interchangeable needle product range, allowing different KnitPro tip materials to share the same cables.
Can I use the cable with KnitPro Tunisian crochet hooks?
Yes. KnitPro interchangeable Tunisian and Afghan crochet hooks use the compatible screw-in cable connection.
Does the cable swivel?
No. This listing is for a fixed nylon cable. KnitPro swivel cables are a different product.
Is this the same as KnitPro's nylon-coated stainless-steel cable?
No. This is the original coloured nylon fixed cable range. The nylon-coated stainless-steel fixed and swivel ranges are separate products.
Why are the cables different colours?
The colour identifies the length at a glance: yellow 40cm, blue 50cm, green 60cm, orange 80cm, red 100cm and purple 120cm.
What are the end caps for?
They screw onto the cable after the needle tips are removed, keeping live stitches secure and turning the cable into a convenient stitch holder.
Why should I use the cable key?
The key provides leverage for a secure connection. Hand tightening alone may allow the join to loosen while you knit.
Can I knit flat with this cable?
Yes. Once tips are attached, circular needles can work back and forth in rows as well as around in continuous rounds.
Which length is best for magic loop?
The 100 or 120cm options are common starting points because magic loop needs spare cable length. The best choice depends on the project circumference and your technique.
Can I join two cables together?
Yes, with a compatible KnitPro cable connector sold separately. The connector is not included in this cable pack.
How should I store the cable?
Store it loosely coiled or in a cable organiser, away from sharp folds and heavy objects. Hold the metal join rather than the nylon when connecting or removing tips.
Choose the length and complete your KnitPro circular
Select the nominal finished length your project needs, match it with your preferred KnitPro interchangeable tips and secure both joins with the included cable key.
