Dotec · Curved blind-hemming needles

Curved needles for discreet machine hemming.

Dotec LWx6T / 29BL needles have the curved form needed by compatible blind-hemming machines. Choose from three sizes to suit the fabric and thread used in your hemming work. A correct needle is only part of the setup: test the machine’s bite and seam appearance on matching fabric before finishing the garment.

Pack of 10 needles in your selected size.

Trouser and skirt hems

Use on suitable garment fabric in a blind hemmer that specifies LWx6T. Adjust the machine so the stitches take the intended amount of fabric.

Alteration work

Choose the size to suit the fabric and thread rather than repeating the last setup automatically. Check the outside appearance of every test hem.

Replacing curved needles

Keep the original packet for identification. A curved needle from a different system can look similar while having dimensions unsuitable for your machine.

Choose the required option in the selector above. Each selection is supplied separately; this is not a set of every size shown.

Before you start

  1. Check the machine’s complete needle system and size range. Choose the point and size for your fabric and thread.
  2. Switch off and isolate the machine as instructed. Install the needle fully, in the orientation specified by the manual.
  3. Sew a sample with the intended layers and thread. Check stitch formation and fabric marking before continuing.

This is a curved machine needle, not a straight domestic needle or a hand-sewing needle. Do not try to straighten it or fit it to an ordinary sewing machine.

Good to know

Will a new needle make every hem invisible?

No. Fabric, needle size, thread and the machine’s bite adjustment all affect how much stitching is visible from the outside.

Which size should I choose?

Start with the machine maker’s recommendation for the fabric and thread. Test the completed hem for both secure stitching and an acceptable face-side appearance.
