Secure your stitches before trimming the thread tail. Keep the tips clear of the fabric beneath; these are pointed scissors, not a seam ripper.
Choose the right tool: Use these small scissors for finishing details, with a separate dressmaking pair for cutting out fabric.
Keep your scissors at their best
Wipe the blades clean after use and store them dry, with the blades closed. Reserve them for sewing materials; use separate tools for paper, wire, pins and heavy-duty cutting. Keep sharp points out of reach of children.

Can I use these instead of dressmaking scissors?
They are best for small cuts and thread trimming. Choose an 8-inch dressmaking pair for cutting out garment pieces or longer lengths of fabric.
