V69 is lighter than V92, but it is still industrial thread
Ticket 30 / Tex 80 must suit the machine, needle, bobbin, tension, stitch and material. Coats lists a 120 to 140 metric needle range as a guide, but the correct needle always depends on the exact application and machine system.
- Confirm that the machine is approved to feed and tension Tex 80 bonded polyester.
- Use the correct needle system and choose the size for the thread, material and seam.
- Check that the needle eye allows the thread to pass without abrasion.
- Balance upper and bobbin tensions on project offcuts.
- Use a suitable cone stand and thread path for reliable feeding.
- Do not assume that an ordinary domestic machine can accommodate the thread or cone.
Water resistant thread is not a waterproof seam: standard Dabond offers environmental resistance but it is not the separate Dabond AWF anti-wick product. Fabric, needle holes, seam construction, tension and sealing all affect water penetration.

Is this V69, Ticket 30 or Tex 80?
All three references describe this product in different sizing systems. It is commonly traded as V69, while the verified Coats specification is Ticket 30 / Tex 80.
Is this Dabond Outdoor?
No. This listing is for standard Coats Dabond. Dabond Outdoor and Dabond AWF are separate products in the wider Dabond family.
Can I use it in a domestic sewing machine?
Some heavy duty domestic machines may accommodate certain heavier threads, but many ordinary domestic machines cannot correctly feed or tension Tex 80 from a commercial cone. Check the machine manual, needle limits and thread path before ordering.
Is the seam waterproof?
No thread alone makes a seam waterproof. This is standard Dabond, not Dabond AWF anti-wick thread. The complete fabric and seam construction determine water resistance.
When should I choose V69 instead of V92?
Choose V69 when the approved seam calls for a finer Tex 80 thread and a less prominent stitch. Choose V92 when the fabric, machine and seam design require the heavier Tex 105 size.
