Why choose this heavier size

Strong visual definition for correctly specified seams

V207 is a specialist industrial thread. Its value comes from matching the thread to the machine, needle, material, stitch formation and engineered seam requirement.

Controlled construction

The bonded finish supports ply cohesion and smoother feeding through a properly configured industrial thread path.

Needle heat protection

Coats lists needle heat protection and smooth sewing among Dabond's key benefits.

Bleach resistance

Excellent bleach resistance supports appropriate vinyl, upholstery and technical applications.

Production cone

The 2000m make-up supports longer industrial runs with fewer cone changes.

Genuine Coats Dabond

Bond cohesion that supports demanding sewing

Coats describes Dabond as a bonded, twisted continuous filament polyester with exceptional bond cohesion and excellent sewing properties in tough conditions.

Bonded and lubricated

Designed to help control the plies, protect against needle heat and promote smooth passage through the sewing system.

Heavy Ticket 12 format

The current Coats sheet lists Ticket 12 as Tex 240, with 830 x 3 dtex/ply construction.

Black or White

Select the colour on the product page. Each option supplies one full cone, not a colour assortment.

Choose the colour above

Two practical production colours

The product selector controls the cone supplied. Colour can vary between screens and physical thread, so request or compare a physical sample when an exact production match is critical.

Choose by specification, not appearance alone

Where V207 sits in the Dabond size range

A larger V number indicates a heavier thread, but the correct choice must come from the approved seam specification and the machine's verified capacity.

V69

Ticket 30 / Tex 80. Finer seam profile and 3000m cone.

V92

Ticket 25 / Tex 105. Heavier than V69 and less bulky than V138.

V138

Ticket 18 / Tex 150. A substantial step up for compatible industrial applications.

V207

This product. Ticket 12 / Coats Tex 240, supplied on a 2000m cone.

Official Dabond application families

For demanding upholstery, sports and technical sewing

For load-bearing or safety-critical products: do not select thread from the product description alone. The complete material, stitch, seam, machine setup and production specification must be designed, tested and approved for the intended end use.
Industrial machine compatibility is essential

V207 requires a machine built and configured for heavy thread

The current Coats guide lists metric 160 to 200 needles for Ticket 12 / Tex 240. That range is indicative only. The exact needle system and size depend on the machine, material, stitch and seam design.

  • Confirm the machine manufacturer approves Tex 240 bonded polyester.
  • Confirm the hook, bobbin system, tension range and thread path can accommodate the thread.
  • Use the correct needle system with an eye large enough for clean thread passage.
  • Match the stitch length, presser-foot pressure and feed system to the material stack.
  • Balance upper and bobbin tensions using representative production offcuts.
  • Use a stable cone stand and a smooth, correctly aligned thread path.
  • Do not assume an ordinary domestic or light industrial machine can sew V207.

Standard Dabond is not Dabond Outdoor or Dabond AWF: this listing is for standard Coats Dabond. Thread alone does not make a seam waterproof, and water resistance depends on the complete material and seam construction.

Coats Dabond V207 FAQs

How much thread do I receive?

Each selection supplies one 2000m cone of Coats Dabond V207 in Black or White.

Is V207 the same as Ticket 12 and Tex 240?

This product is sold as V207 / Ticket 12. In the current Coats Dabond technical sheet, Ticket 12 is specified as Tex 240. Because naming systems can differ, use the verified Coats ticket and Tex values when matching a technical specification.

Can I use V207 in a domestic sewing machine?

No ordinary domestic machine should be assumed suitable. V207 is a very heavy thread and requires a machine, needle system, hook, bobbin, tension range and thread path designed to accommodate it.

What needle should I use?

Coats lists metric 160 to 200 as an indicative range for Ticket 12 / Tex 240. Confirm the exact needle system and size with the machine specification and the requirements of the material and seam.

When should I choose V207 instead of V138?

Choose V207 only when the approved seam specification and the machine call for the heavier Ticket 12 / Tex 240 thread. V138 is smaller at Ticket 18 / Tex 150 and may be easier to accommodate, but it is not a substitute when a technical specification requires another size.

Is this Dabond Outdoor or anti-wick thread?

No. This listing is for standard Coats Dabond. Dabond Outdoor and Dabond AWF are separate products in the wider family.

Will this thread make my seam waterproof?

No thread alone makes a seam waterproof. Fabric, coatings, needle holes, stitch formation, seam design, tension and any sealing treatment all affect water penetration.

What is included?

One 2000m cone in the selected colour. A sewing machine, needle, bobbin, fabric and other project materials are not included.

A serious thread for serious equipment
