Sharp and SES choices for the DPx5 system.
Schmetz DPx5 / 135x5 needles give you a choice of Sharp or SES light ballpoint for machines that specify this industrial system. Select the point for the fabric, then the size for the thread and seam layers. Each pack contains ten needles of the chosen size and point.
Sharp: 70/10, 80/12, 90/14, 100/16, 110/18, 120/19 or 130/21. Ballpoint: 70/10, 80/12, 90/14 or 100/16. Ten needles per pack.

Knitted garment work
SES light ballpoint is an option for suitable fine to medium knits. A sample seam helps you check whether the rounded point suits the particular yarn structure.
Different thread sizes
The range makes it possible to adjust needle size between projects. Confirm that both the selected size and thread are within the machine’s operating specification.

Before you start
- Check the manual for DPx5 / 135x5 and select the appropriate point and needle size.
- Switch off before changing the needle. Insert it fully and align the groove and scarf as specified.
- Test on the intended seam layers, then inspect for skipped stitches, thread damage and unwanted fabric marking.
DPx5 / 135x5 is not DPx17 / 135x17. Matching the size or machine brand does not establish compatibility.

What is the largest Ballpoint size here?
The Ballpoint selection finishes at 100/16. The larger 110/18, 120/19 and 130/21 options are Sharp.
Is SES a cutting point?
No. SES is a light ballpoint designed to displace yarns; it is different from a shaped leather cutting point.
