Set up the right needle for your coverseam.
Dotec UY128 GAS needles are for industrial coverseam machines specified to use this system. Choose sharp or ballpoint to suit the fabric, with individual sizes for different thread and material combinations. Use the same specification when replacing needles in a multi-needle setup, unless the machine instructions call for something different.
Supplied as a pack of 10 needles in the selected size and point, not a mixed assortment.

Coverseam construction
For a compatible machine, match the needle point and size to the intended seam and fabric. Keep the full GAS designation when identifying replacements.
Multi-needle maintenance
Follow the machine’s requirements for needle positions and installation heights. Correct threading and a consistent needle setup are important alongside the point selection.

Before you start
- Check the machine’s complete needle system and size range. Choose the point and size for your fabric and thread.
- Switch off and isolate the machine as instructed. Install the needle fully, in the orientation specified by the manual.
- Sew a sample with the intended layers and thread. Check stitch formation and fabric marking before continuing.
Do not assume UY128 GAS fits a domestic coverstitch machine, or that every UY128 variant is interchangeable. Check the complete system designation in the manual.
Good to know
Is 60/8 offered in Ballpoint?
No. Here 60/8 is a Sharp option. Ballpoint is offered in 65/9, 70/10, 80/12 and 90/14.
Can needles alone prevent skipped stitches?
No. Needle condition, system and installation matter, but threading, tension and machine settings also need checking when a seam is not forming correctly.
