Which Jiffy garment steamer should I buy?
Choose by how much clothing you steam, where you work and whether portability or longer steaming sessions matter most. The ESTEAM is the compact option; the J-2000 suits regular home and boutique use; the J-4000 Pro-Line is designed for demanding commercial work.
ESTEAM: a handheld steamer for travel and touch-ups
The Jiffy ESTEAM is a corded, handheld clothes steamer for refreshing hanging garments when storage space is limited. Choose it for occasional outfits, event preparation and travel wardrobes. It provides approximately 15 minutes of steam per fill, and we also list a pink ESTEAM. Before overseas use, check the unit’s voltage and plug against the destination supply; a plug adapter does not convert voltage.
J-2000: upright steaming for home and boutiques
The Jiffy J-2000 garment steamer combines a removable water caddy, flexible hose and wheeled base for working through several garments. Its approximately 2.8-litre capacity supports around 90 minutes of steaming per fill. It is a practical step up from a handheld model for regular wardrobe care, clothing boutiques, bridal fittings and product photography.
J-4000: commercial garment steaming
The Jiffy J-4000 Pro-Line has a 1500W heating system, stainless-steel boiler and die-cast aluminium housing. Its 3.8-litre reservoir provides approximately 1 hour 45 minutes of steam per filling. Allow about 15 minutes to reach standby with a full reservoir, then around two minutes to produce steam from standby. It suits retail departments, costume workrooms and hospitality teams with repeated garment or linen preparation.
Replacement hoses and steam heads
Choose a complete hose-and-head assembly or a head-only replacement to match the job. Our Jiffy parts range includes the 0251 plastic head and hose set, 0254 metal head and 5.5ft hose, 0253 plastic head and 0256 metal head with wooden handle. Check the model compatibility and included components on each listing before ordering; these are separate accessories, not complete steamers.
Can I use a Jiffy steamer on curtains?
For hanging curtains and drapery, see the 0252 J-4000 drapery hose and plastic head. This 7.5ft configuration is recommended for the J-4000 only and is not recommended for steaming garments. A longer hose is not automatically a suitable upgrade for every Jiffy model. Always check the textile’s care instructions.
Does a garment steamer replace an iron?
A clothes steamer relaxes wrinkles in hanging garments; an iron remains useful for crisp creases and firmly pressed seams. Steaming does not remove fabric stains or replace washing. Follow the care label and test a hidden area first. Jiffy advises avoiding direct steam-head contact with silk and velvet. For pressing equipment as well as steaming, browse our ironing and pressing range.
Water and routine care
Jiffy permits ordinary tap water. Do not add perfume, salt or other additives. Follow the model’s cleaning instructions to manage mineral deposits, and keep the unit upright during use. Read the Jiffy manuals and care guidance before using or maintaining your steamer.
