Intelligent assistance for serious creative sewing
The Husqvarna Viking Opal 690Q is designed for dressmakers, quilters and experienced home sewists who want greater automation without moving into an embroidery machine. It combines a generous 200mm workspace with sensor-controlled fabric feeding, automatic tension, automatic thread cutting and a large selection of stitches.
Choose your fabric and sewing technique using the Exclusive SEWING ADVISOR® and the Opal 690Q sets or recommends the relevant sewing functions. The touchscreen displays your stitch in actual size, making it easier to review and adjust settings before sewing.
Exclusive Sensor System
The Exclusive Sensor System automatically senses the thickness of your fabric and adjusts presser-foot pressure to support smooth, even feeding. This is particularly useful when moving across seams, quilt layers or changing fabric thicknesses.
When you stop with the needle down, the presser foot can automatically rise to the correct pivot height. This makes turning corners, repositioning appliqué and controlling quilt work faster and easier.
Advanced features that save time and improve control
The Opal 690Q manages many routine sewing tasks automatically, allowing you to concentrate on fabric handling, construction and design.
208 Built-In Stitches
Choose from utility, stretch, quilt, decorative, satin, heirloom, speciality, buttonhole and pictogram stitches up to 7mm wide.
Monochrome Touchscreen
Select stitches and functions directly on the 64 × 48mm touchscreen using your fingertip or the included stylus.
Automatic Thread Cutter
Cuts the upper and bobbin threads and draws the thread ends to the underside of the fabric at the touch of a button.
Automatic Thread Tension
Electronic self-adjusting tension selects a suitable setting for the chosen stitch, fabric and sewing technique.
Bobbin Thread Sensor
The machine stops and alerts you when the bobbin thread is running low, reducing the chance of continuing with an empty bobbin.
Start/Stop Sewing
Sew without the foot controller when desired, providing consistent speed for long seams, decorative stitches and selected techniques.
Five Speed Levels
Set an appropriate maximum sewing speed for precision work, curves, free-motion sewing or faster construction seams.
Needle Stop Up/Down
Set the needle to stop in or above the fabric for easier pivoting, appliqué placement and quilt work.
Four Sewing Fonts
Programme stitched names, dates, labels and messages using four built-in alphabet styles.
My Stitches Memory
Save personal settings and programmed combinations in twelve permanent memories with capacity for 240 stitches in total.
Sensor Buttonholes
The Sensor One-Step Buttonhole Foot measures while sewing to create balanced, repeatable buttonholes at a consistent size.
Automatic Tapering
Create tapered beginnings and endings on compatible stitches for decorative details, borders, appliqué and personalised effects.
29 Needle Positions
Position straight stitching accurately for zips, edge stitching, topstitching, seam allowances and quilt piecing.
Three LED Lights
Three LED lighting points illuminate the needle and sewing surface while helping reduce shadows across the work area.
Built-In Needle Threader
Helps guide thread through the needle eye, simplifying setup and making frequent thread changes easier.
