Are Aran, worsted and 10 ply the same?
They are useful neighbouring shopping categories, but yarns within them can knit to different gauges. 'Ply' in a New Zealand weight description is not necessarily the number of strands used to construct the yarn. Compare stitches per 10cm, fibre and the washed fabric before making a substitution.
