Alteration rooms
Move efficiently through hems, seams, linings, repairs and everyday garment adjustments.
A fast, direct-drive industrial plain sewer with automatic backtacking, thread trimming and presser-foot lift. The A7100 is built for efficient garment construction, alterations, homewares and repeat straight-stitch work on light-to-medium materials.
A7100 | automatic plain sewer
Choose the A7100 when most of your work is straight seams and you want the speed of an industrial machine without wasting movement on thread tails, repeated backtacks and lifting the foot by hand.
Move efficiently through hems, seams, linings, repairs and everyday garment adjustments.
Create clean straight construction seams on common light-to-medium garment materials.
Step into industrial sewing with a controllable speed ceiling and automatic workflow.
Reduce repetitive handling across batches of the same seams and operations.
Sew pillowcases, cushions, bedding, napery and suitable light curtain fabrics.
Set a manageable top speed, then increase it as operator control develops.
These photographs show the current machine head, integrated operation panel, needle area and thread path. The industrial table and stand supplied with the machine may vary in colour or finish from the photography.

The motor is integrated with the machine head, so power reaches the main shaft directly. The A7100 responds quickly when the pedal is pressed and remains quiet when you pause.

The A7100 keeps the actual sewing familiar while automating the beginning and end of each operation. That difference becomes valuable across alterations, sample making and production work.
Finish the pedal sequence and the machine cuts the needle and bobbin threads, reducing scissor work and long thread tails.
Set reverse stitches at the beginning and end for consistent seam locking across repeated work.
Raise the presser foot as part of the pedal-controlled workflow so both hands can stay closer to the fabric.
Set a sensible top speed rather than relying on pedal finesse alone, useful for learning and detailed work.
Use the reverse lever near the needle whenever judgement matters more than a programmed backtack.
Built-in illumination helps you follow seam guides, fabric edges and the needle entry point.

The control panel lets you cap the maximum sewing speed to suit the operator and task. Start conservatively while learning the pedal or working close to an edge, then raise the limit for long production seams.
Cotton, linen, shirting, suiting and many everyday clothing fabrics.
Trouser hems, side seams, linings, zip work and common garment repairs.
Straight-stitch operations using the right DBx1 ballpoint needle and careful testing.
Repeat straight seams on common workwear and uniform materials within its range.
Fast construction for pattern development, fitting garments and small production runs.
Long straight seams on pillowcases, sheets and suitable cover fabrics.
Cushions, napery and suitable curtain or décor fabrics without bulky layered construction.
Consistent seam starts and finishes when settings are matched to the operation.
The machine head sits in a full industrial table with a steel stand and pedal system.
Industrial cones feed from a raised guide for a clean route into the tension system.
The current package is mounted on wheels so the workstation can be repositioned when required.
Lock the castors and keep the table level before sewing at industrial speed.
Maintain the oil system with the correct clear No. 10 white industrial sewing-machine oil.
Use DBx1 industrial needles and thread selected for the fabric and seam specification.

Open Official Manual (PDF)It is an industrial single-needle, bottom-feed straight-lockstitch machine with an integrated direct-drive motor and automatic seam-finishing functions.
It is designed for general straight-stitch work on light-to-medium materials, including many apparel fabrics, alterations, uniforms, samples, bedding and suitable homewares.
Yes. It produces a strong straight lockstitch and reverse lockstitch. It does not zigzag, make decorative stitches, overlock edges or sew buttonholes.
The current Direct Sewing A7100 package includes automatic backtacking, automatic thread trimming and automatic presser-foot lift.
The machine cuts the needle and bobbin threads at the end of the programmed operation, reducing scissor work and thread tails between seams.
Yes. Beginning and ending reverse stitches can be set for consistent seam locking. A manual reverse lever remains available when operator judgement is preferred.
Yes. Automatic presser-foot lift is included in the current local machine package, helping the operator keep both hands closer to the work.
The servo motor is integrated with the machine head and drives the main shaft directly. This gives quick response and avoids the constant idle running of a traditional clutch motor.
No. Set a lower maximum speed at the control panel, then use the pedal for variable control up to that limit.
Zoje rates the standard A7100 configuration at up to 5,000 stitches per minute. Actual working speed should be chosen for the material, operation and operator.
The standard A7100 has a maximum stitch length of 5mm.
It uses DBx1 industrial needles, also commonly labelled 16x231. Zoje specifies a size range from #11 to #18 for the standard A7100.
No. Domestic 130/705 H needles are a different system. Use DBx1 / 16x231 industrial needles with the point and size selected for the fabric and thread.
It can handle suitable light-to-medium denim garment work with the correct DBx1 needle, thread and reduced speed at bulky intersections. It is not a heavy walking-foot machine.
It can straight-stitch suitable knit operations with the correct industrial ballpoint needle and testing. It does not have stretch stitches or differential feed, so an overlocker may be the better primary machine for knit construction.
Only lighter work within its material range. Choose a needle-feed or compound-feed walking-foot machine for regular upholstery, canvas, webbing, heavy leather or bulky layered assemblies.
Yes. It uses an automatic lubrication system. Maintain it with the specified clear No. 10 white industrial sewing-machine oil and follow the manual for level and maintenance instructions.
Yes. An LED light is built into the sewing area to improve visibility around the needle and seam guide.
The current industrial table is approximately 1.2 x 0.6m, plus room for the operator and safe access around the workstation.
The current package includes the A7100 head with integrated motor and controls, industrial table and stand, pedal system, thread stand, wheels, oil, bobbins, screwdriver and needles. Table or stand finish can vary.
The Zoje A7100 combines responsive direct-drive power with automatic backtacking, thread trimming and foot lift, giving busy sewing rooms more efficient starts, stops and fabric handling.
