Centre the opening before you begin
The slider must sit flat, with its existing opening precisely aligned to the machine's needle and throat-plate opening. Check the path manually before sewing.

Prepare the work area
Switch off the machine and remove the project. Wipe the machine bed or table so it is clean, dry and free from lint or oil.

Smooth the slider outward so it grips evenly. The entire working area should be supported, without curled edges or unsupported overhang.
