The substantial card weight is suited to patterns that will be handled repeatedly. Use it for garment blocks, repeat-cutting templates and a tidy library of tried-and-tested designs. A continuous roll lets you cut a working length for each project rather than starting with a fixed sheet size.
- Dressmaking blocks: keep your established bodice, skirt, trouser or sleeve shapes together.
- Reusable templates: make working pieces for pockets, collars, cuffs, bags and other repeat shapes.

How to build your reusable pattern set
- Cut the length you need and allow it to relax flat on a clean work surface. Use pattern weights to hold it steady.
- Draft directly onto the card, or transfer your finished paper pattern, keeping grainlines, darts and matching points accurate.
- Cut with paper scissors or a suitable knife on a cutting mat. Keep your fabric scissors for fabric.
- Label each piece with its name, size, cutting quantity and date. Mark clearly whether seam allowances are included.
- Store finished pieces flat or hang them together using a pattern punch and hook. Keep the unused roll dry and protected from creasing.
Card or tracing paper?
Choose this card for durable working patterns and templates. If you need to see a printed pattern through the sheet while copying it, choose tracing paper for that stage, then transfer your final shape onto card. GSM describes weight per square metre, not thickness in millimetres.
