Over time, an iron’s soleplate can collect residue from interfacing, adhesives, starch, synthetic fibres and general ironing. Keeping the soleplate clean helps it move smoothly across fabric and reduces the chance of unwanted marks appearing on your next sewing, quilting or pressing project.
How to Use Odif Iron Cleaner
- Place a clean, preferably white, cotton cloth on your ironing board or another heat-resistant surface.
- Heat the iron to its cotton setting and switch the steam function off.
- Apply a small line of Odif Iron Cleaner to the cotton cloth. Do not apply the cleaner directly to the iron.
- Pass the hot soleplate over the treated section of cloth several times until the residue has been removed.
- Move the iron over a clean section of the cloth to remove any remaining cleaner.
- Allow the iron to cool completely before storing it.
Important: Use without steam and take care around the hot soleplate. This product is for cleaning the external ironing surface only. Do not place it inside the iron’s water reservoir or steam system.
