Is Odif 606 temporary? No. Odif 606 is a heat-activated adhesive designed to create a permanent fabric-to-fabric bond after ironing. For temporary positioning and basting, choose a temporary adhesive such as Odif 505 instead.
How to Use Odif 606
- Protect your work surface from overspray.
- Shake the aerosol can thoroughly before each use.
- Place the fabric piece face down.
- Spray an even layer onto the reverse side from approximately 20cm away.
- Position the coated fabric on the base fabric.
- Cover the project with baking paper to protect the fabric and iron.
- Using a dry iron on the cotton setting, press firmly for at least 45 seconds.
- For a stronger bond, turn the project over and iron from the reverse side.
- Allow the fabric to cool completely before handling or testing the bond.
For the Best Results
- Apply a thin, even coating rather than oversaturating the fabric.
- Make sure the complete fabric shape, including its edges, receives adhesive.
- Use baking paper between the project and your iron.
- Use firm, even pressure when heat activating the adhesive.
- Work in sections if the project is larger than the iron’s soleplate.
- Test the complete process on a fabric offcut before beginning your project.
