  • Sold as one matching pair so both socks can dry together.
  • Three clearly defined sizes for EU 35 through to 41+.
  • Open cut-outs encourage airflow around the damp fabric.
  • Hanging hole at the cuff offers another convenient drying option.

Why block handmade socks?

Turn just-finished knitting into a gift-ready pair

Socks can look slightly rumpled when they come off the needles. A gentle wash relaxes the yarn, while the blocker supports the intended outline as the fabric dries. The result is a more even pair that photographs, presents and displays beautifully.

Match the pair

Dry both socks on matching forms to create a consistent heel, foot and leg shape.

Open stitch detail

Help lace, cables, colourwork and textured patterns settle so their detail is easier to appreciate.

Smooth the fabric

Ease small wrinkles and uneven areas into a cleaner finished presentation.

Present with pride

Create a polished shape for project photos, gifting, display or your own sock drawer.

One listing, three useful variants

Choose the size that matches the finished sock

KnitPro specifies the blockers by European shoe size. Select the closest size for the person who will wear the socks. If a project falls between sizes or is intended to fit loosely, use the finished measurements in the pattern rather than forcing the fabric onto a larger form.

SSmallEU 35 to 37.5

Article 10830. A practical choice for smaller adult feet and larger children's hand-knit socks.

MMediumEU 38 to 40

Article 10829. The mid-size option for many adult sock projects.

LLargeEU 41+

Article 10828. Designed for larger adult socks from EU size 41 upward.

Choose by the intended wearer: a blocker is a finishing aid, not a way to permanently enlarge a sock that was knitted to the wrong size. Never stretch or force damp fabric over a form that is too large.

Simple forms designed especially for handmade socks

A gentle five-step routine

Wash, towel, shape, air dry and enjoy

Check the yarn

Follow the fibre and pattern care instructions before washing or soaking the finished socks.

Remove excess water

Press each sock gently in a clean towel. Do not wring, twist or pull the damp fabric.

Slide it on

Ease one sock over each blocker, align the heel and toe, and smooth the leg without forcing it.

Air dry fully

Lay the pair flat or hang them by the top holes in a warm, well-ventilated place away from direct heat.

Remove and store

Wait until the socks are completely dry, slide them off gently, then wipe and store the blockers flat.

Protect the acrylic: do not use a garment steamer, iron, hot hair dryer, tumble dryer, heater or other direct heat on the blockers. Heat can damage or distort acrylic.

Questions before choosing?

Aqua Sock Blocker FAQs

Does each variant include one blocker or a pair?

Every size includes one pair, so you receive two matching Aqua Sock Blockers.

Which size should I choose?

Choose Small for EU 35 to 37.5, Medium for EU 38 to 40 or Large for EU 41+. Match the size to the intended wearer and the pattern's finished measurements.

Can I use them for knitted and crocheted socks?

Yes. They are suitable for handmade knitted or crocheted socks when wet blocking is appropriate for the yarn.

Are these adjustable?

No. Each blocker is a fixed-size form, which is why the three sizes are offered as separate variants.

Will the blocker enlarge a sock?

Blocking can relax and settle the fabric, but these are not intended to correct a badly fitting sock. Never force a small sock onto an oversized blocker.

How wet should the socks be?

Follow the yarn instructions, then press out excess moisture in a clean towel. The socks should be damp enough to shape but not dripping.

Can I hang the blockers while the socks dry?

Yes. The small hole near the top can be used with a suitable hook in a secure, well-ventilated drying area.

Can I use steam to speed up blocking?

No. Do not direct steam, an iron or other strong heat at the acrylic. Let the socks air dry naturally.

Are they only useful for lace socks?

No. Lace shows the transformation particularly well, but the blockers are also useful for cables, texture, colourwork, stripes and plain socks.

Can I use a large blocker for a smaller sock?

That risks overstretching the fabric and cuff. Select the closest size to the intended foot instead.

How should I clean the blockers?

Wipe them with a soft damp cloth, dry thoroughly and avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents and high heat.

How should I store them?

Keep the pair clean, dry and flat in a cool place away from direct sunlight, heaters and heavy objects that could bend or crack the acrylic.

Let your next pair dry into its best shape

Select the Aqua Sock Blocker size that suits the wearer, gently shape both freshly washed socks and enjoy a beautifully matched, photo-ready finish.
