The JUKI LU-2810AS is a high and semi-long-arm compound-feed industrial sewing machine designed for heavy materials and large assemblies. Its true unison-feed system, large drop-in bobbin and expanded working area make it particularly effective for upholstery, canvas, marine covers, tents, bags and other bulky products.

Extra working room without moving to a full long-arm machine
The increased distance between the needle and machine arm makes it easier to turn, position and support large workpieces such as boat covers, furniture panels, tents, automotive upholstery and bulky bags.
The LU-2810AS combines this expanded workspace with JUKI’s unison-feed system, allowing the needle, inside presser foot and feed dog to move the material together. This helps maintain alignment and consistent stitch length across multiple layers.

Large drop-in bobbin
The vertical-axis 2×-capacity hook provides easy top access and reduces bobbin changes during long seams with heavier thread.
Adjustable walking movement
Walking-foot and presser-foot movement can be adjusted from approximately 1 to 9 mm using the large top-mounted dial.
Double thread tension
The standard double-tension system provides greater control when sewing heavier materials with thicker industrial thread.
Resettable safety clutch
If excessive load is applied around the hook, the safety clutch can disengage and be reset by button after the cause is cleared.
Semi-dry lubrication
The semi-dry head and tank-style automatic lubrication system provide stable lubrication while helping reduce oil around the needle area.
True Unison Feed
Positive control across bulky layered assemblies
The LU-2810AS feeds the material at three points. This helps keep upper and lower layers aligned while crossing raised joins, piping, foam-backed materials and changing seam thicknesses.
A bottom-feed micro-adjustment mechanism allows the feed balance to be tuned for the material and thread being used.
Needle feed
The needle travels with the material during the feeding movement.
Inside walking foot
The inside foot controls and advances the material from above.
Bottom feed dog
The feed dog advances the material from beneath the needle plate.

Material density, surface finish, thread size, foam thickness and the
number of layers all affect suitability. Standard presser feet and feed
dogs can mark some delicate, glossy or coated surfaces. Very dense
belting, heavy harness work and thick saddlery may require a machine
designed for heavier thread than the LU-2810AS.

What materials is the LU-2810AS designed to sew?
It is designed for heavy materials and bulky multi-layered products including canvas covers, tents, upholstery, automotive and marine trim, horse rugs, bags, luggage, selected leather, vinyl and PVC applications.
Is the LU-2810AS a true compound-feed machine?
Yes. The needle, inside presser foot and feed dog move together during feeding. This helps keep layered materials aligned and improves stitch consistency across changing thicknesses.
How does it differ from the DNU-1541?
The LU-2810AS provides a larger 347 mm working area, a vertical-axis drop-in 2×-capacity bobbin, up to 9 mm of walking-foot movement, double thread tension and a higher presser-foot lift capability. It is particularly useful for larger and bulkier workpieces.
Does the LU-2810AS have a safety clutch?
Yes. A resettable safety clutch is provided to help protect the hook and lower drive if excessive load or a thread jam occurs. The cause of the jam must be cleared before resetting the clutch.
Does the presser foot lift to 20 mm?
The machine head supports up to 20 mm of lift when equipped with the appropriate automatic lifting mechanism. Hand lift is 10 mm. Because the automatic lifter is optional on the non-trimmer model, confirm the supplied package with Direct Sewing if the full automatic 20 mm lift is required.
Does it have automatic thread trimming or backtacking?
No. The LU-2810AS package is not the automatic LU-2810-7 version. Thread trimming and reverse stitching are manually controlled. The supplied servo motor and synchronizer provide adjustable speed and controlled machine positioning.
Can it sew leather and vinyl?
It can sew many upholstery, bag and furnishing leathers as well as suitable vinyl and PVC products. Standard feet and feed dogs may mark delicate or glossy surfaces, so sample testing and suitable feed components are recommended.
What needle system does the LU-2810AS use?
The machine uses the 135×17 / DP×17 industrial needle system. JUKI specifies a range from Nm125 to Nm180, selected according to the material and thread.
Does the package include a motor, table and stand?
Yes. Direct Sewing supplies the LU-2810AS with a high-powered adjustable-speed servo motor, synchronizer, industrial table, stand, thread stand and wheels. Oil, bobbins, a screwdriver and needles are also included.
