Is the AK automatic foot lift included with this machine?
Yes. This Direct Sewing package includes the AK motor-driven automatic presser-foot lift. It is not an optional extra on this particular product configuration.
What does the AK foot lift do?
The AK system raises the presser foot automatically as part of the sewing cycle. It provides an 8.5 mm first-stage lift and a 13 mm second-stage lift, helping the operator reposition or remove the work while keeping both hands available.
What type of stitch does the DDL-8000A make?
It produces a single-needle straight lockstitch using one needle thread and one bobbin thread. It is intended for professional seam construction and straight topstitching.
Does it include automatic backtack and thread trimming?
Yes. Automatic reverse stitching secures the seam, and the automatic thread trimmer cuts the needle and bobbin threads at the end of the sewing cycle.
How fast does the JUKI DDL-8000A sew?

Which needles does this machine use?
It uses DB×1 industrial needles, also identified as 16×231, 287WH or 1738(A). The medium-weight model accepts sizes #9–#18, with the size and point selected to suit the material and thread.
What does semi-dry head mean?
The needle-bar and upper machine-head mechanisms use grease lubrication rather than conventional oiling. This reduces the risk of oil reaching the garment, while the rotary hook continues to receive controlled lubrication.
Can the DDL-8000A sew leather or heavy upholstery?
This configuration is intended for garment-weight light-to-medium and medium materials. It may sew some light leather with the correct setup, but thick leather, upholstery, webbing and difficult layered assemblies generally require a needle-feed, walking-foot or compound-feed machine.
Does the machine have a touchscreen?
No. It uses an integrated LCD operation panel with physical controls, voice guidance, production counters and automatic-function settings. Customers wanting electronic stitch-length control and a colour touchscreen should compare the JUKI DDL-900C.
What is the difference between the DDL-8000A and DDL-900C?
