Mechanical simplicity with genuinely useful features

An excellent machine for learning and everyday sewing

The Sewist 725S is designed for beginners, casual sewists, classrooms and experienced makers who prefer the simplicity and direct control of a mechanical sewing machine.

There are no digital menus to navigate. Select the stitch using the upper dial, adjust the stitch length using the lower dial and set the width using the top control. The complete stitch chart is printed directly across the front of the machine.

With utility stitches, stretch stitches, decorative options and a one-step buttonhole, the Sewist 725S provides the functions needed for garments, repairs, alterations, crafts, patchwork and home sewing.

Why the Sewist 725S stands out

A strong collection of essential mechanical features

01

23 built-in stitches

Sew utility seams, stretch fabrics, hems, overcasting, patchwork and decorative details using a well-balanced stitch library.

02

One-step buttonhole

Insert the button into the automatic buttonhole foot and sew a buttonhole sized to match it in one continuous sequence.

03

Adjustable foot pressure

Adapt the pressure applied to fine fabrics, pile fabrics, appliqué, basting and standard woven materials.

04

Built-in needle threader

Guide the upper thread through the threading mechanism and pull a loop through the eye of the needle more easily.

05

Four-piece feed system

The lower feed dogs move the fabric consistently through everyday seams, stretch stitches and decorative work.

06

Drop feed

Lower the feed dogs for button sewing, darning, free-motion quilting and creative surface stitching.

07

Extra-high foot lift

Raise the presser foot approximately 6mm above its normal lifted position to help position thicker fabric sections.

08

Hard cover included

Protect the machine from dust and light knocks during storage or transport using the supplied fitted cover.

Simple visual selection

The complete stitch chart is always visible

Every stitch is printed across the front of the machine and labelled with a letter.

Turn the large pattern-selection dial to the matching letter, then use the lower dial to adjust the stitch length.

Blue stitch symbols identify stretch stitches, which are selected by moving the stitch-length dial into the stretch-stitch range.

Large mechanical dials provide direct control over stitch selection and stitch length.
Direct mechanical control

Select and adjust stitches without navigating menus

The upper front dial selects the required stitch pattern, while the lower dial controls stitch length and stretch-stitch balance.

A separate width dial across the top of the machine adjusts zigzag width up to 5mm and also provides variable straight-stitch needle positioning.

The mechanical format makes it easy to see and understand how each setting affects the stitch.

  • Large pattern-selector dial
  • Stitch-length adjustment
  • Stretch-stitch balance control
  • Stitch-width adjustment
  • Variable needle positioning
  • Manual upper-thread tension
Adapt the machine to different fabrics

Four-level presser-foot pressure adjustment

The pressure dial is located at the left end of the machine and changes how firmly the presser foot holds the fabric against the feed dogs.

Standard pressure is suitable for most everyday sewing. Reduce the pressure for appliqué, basting, cutwork and fine fabrics such as chiffon, lace and organza.

Adjustable pressure is particularly useful when sewing materials that may stretch, mark, compress or feed unevenly under a standard setting.

Standard fabrics

Use the regular setting for cotton, linen and common woven materials.

Fine fabrics

Reduce pressure for chiffon, lace, organza and delicate lightweight material.

Appliqué

Lower pressure to make turning and repositioning the project easier.

Pile fabrics

Adjust pressure to reduce marking and unwanted movement through raised surfaces.

The pressure dial is positioned at the left side of the machine for easy access.
Quicker preparation

Built-in one-step needle threader

Raise the needle to its highest position, lower the threader and guide the thread beneath the threading hook.

Release the mechanism and a loop is drawn through the eye of the needle, reducing the need to thread it manually.

This is particularly useful when changing thread colours frequently or when the needle eye is difficult to see.

Consistent buttonholes without four manual stages

A one-step buttonhole sized to your selected button

Place the button into the rear section of the automatic buttonhole foot, attach the foot and lower the machine’s buttonhole lever.

The machine sews the complete buttonhole sequence to suit the button placed in the foot. Buttonhole density can be adjusted using the stitch-length dial.

  • Automatic one-step sequence
  • Button-size measurement
  • Adjustable stitch density
  • Corded buttonhole capability
  • Manual buttonhole option
  • Automatic Buttonhole Foot R included

Clear visibility around the needle

LED lighting and a transparent bobbin cover

The white LED light illuminates the immediate sewing area while producing very little heat.

The clear top-loading bobbin cover allows you to see the installed thread colour and check the remaining bobbin supply.

The needle plate and bobbin cover include seam guides and angle markings to support accurate alignment.

Compact but practical

A useful workspace for garments, repairs and everyday projects

The machine provides approximately 157mm of width and 107mm of height to the right of the needle.

This is suitable for garment construction, cushions, repairs, alterations, craft projects, appliqué and smaller patchwork work while keeping the overall machine compact.

Garments

Construct everyday clothing, childrenswear, tops, dresses and simple trousers.

Repairs

Complete hemming, seam repairs, patches and general household alterations.

Home sewing

Create cushions, lightweight curtains, table linen and decorative projects.

Patchwork

Piece smaller quilt blocks using the supplied quilting guide and optional feet.

Tubular sewing made easier

Remove the accessory box to reveal the free arm

The front extension table slides away from the machine and reveals a narrow free arm.

Tubular garments and small openings can be placed around the arm rather than being flattened across the full sewing bed.

Drop the feed dogs for darning and free-motion work

The drop-feed lever is positioned beneath the free arm at the rear of the machine.

Lowering the feed dogs allows you to control the fabric movement manually for darning, button sewing, free-motion quilting and thread painting.

Optional foot required

A darning or free-motion quilting foot is not included in the standard regional package. Compatible open-toe, closed-toe and convertible free-motion feet are available separately.

Reliable everyday fabric movement

Four-piece lower feed system

Four feed-dog sections rise through the needle plate and move the fabric beneath the presser foot.

Combined with adjustable foot pressure, the feed system provides controlled movement for standard woven materials, stretch stitches, decorative sewing and everyday construction.

An optional even-feed foot can be added when upper and lower layers need to move together more closely.

Easy-to-see top-loading bobbin

Full rotary hook system with auto-declutch winding

The horizontal bobbin drops into the holder from above and remains visible beneath the transparent cover.

To wind a bobbin, place it on the winding spindle and push the spindle to the right. The sewing mechanism automatically disengages while the bobbin winds.

  • Top-loading bobbin access
  • Full rotary hook system
  • Transparent bobbin cover
  • Auto-declutch bobbin winder
  • Additional spool pin included
  • Three regional bobbins included

Thread-cutter clarification

The Sewist 725S has a manual thread cutter positioned beneath the machine’s faceplate.

It does not have an automatic push-button thread cutter. After sewing, raise the presser foot and draw the upper and bobbin threads across the built-in cutter by hand.

Important information before purchasing

The Sewist 725S is a mechanical sewing machine. It does not have a screen, automatic thread cutter, speed-control slider, start and stop button, alphabet lettering, stitch memory or electronic needle-position button.

Sewing speed is controlled entirely through the supplied foot controller.

It is a domestic sewing machine intended for household sewing rather than continuous industrial production or repeated sewing through very dense materials.
