Complete long seams, piecing and production-style sewing efficiently, with a speed-control slider for detailed or controlled work.
Industrial-inspired control meets modern computerised creativity. The Janome Memory Craft 6700P combines a heavy-duty all-metal flat-bed, speeds of up to 1,200 stitches per minute, AcuFeed Flex, professional HP technology and 200 built-in stitches in one powerful sewing and quilting machine.
IDEA 2018 Finalist
The Memory Craft 6700P is designed for quilters, garment makers, bag makers, costume departments and experienced sewists who want a solid, fast and dependable machine without giving up decorative stitches, buttonholes or programmable sewing.
Its heavy-duty powder-coated metal flat-bed provides a smooth, uninterrupted sewing surface with 255mm of space to the right of the needle. A rigid die-cast aluminium internal frame and vibration-suppression design help the machine remain stable and refined at higher sewing speeds.
AcuFeed Flex, professional HP technology, three needle plates, manual tension, stepless presser-foot pressure and an independent bobbin-winding motor give experienced users direct control over the way the machine feeds, forms and finishes each stitch.
The regional MC6700P package includes the principal equipment required for layered sewing, precision piecing, quilting and high-speed production-style work.
Complete long seams, piecing and production-style sewing efficiently, with a speed-control slider for detailed or controlled work.
The powder-coated metal sewing bed creates a smooth, durable and uninterrupted surface for guiding fabric and larger projects.
Janome’s detachable layered-fabric feeding system helps move the upper and lower fabric layers together for improved control.
The narrow HP foot and dedicated needle plate provide excellent visibility and precise control for piecing, curves and topstitching.
Select the standard zigzag, straight-stitch or professional HP plate to support the fabric and technique being sewn.
Release and replace the needle plate without removing screws or reaching for a screwdriver.
Wind a fresh bobbin using the separate bobbin motor while the machine remains threaded and prepared for sewing.
Exterior tension and presser-foot pressure dials provide immediate, visible control over stitch formation and fabric handling.
The MC6700P can sew at up to 1,200 stitches per minute, making it one of Janome’s fastest top-loading computerised sewing machines.
A full metal frame, substantial flat-bed and vibration-suppression engineering help the machine remain smooth and controlled as the speed increases.
Use the maximum-speed slider to slow the machine for curves, appliqué, decorative details or free-motion work, then increase the speed for long seams and efficient construction.
The seamless metal bed provides 255mm of width and 120mm of height to the right of the needle, giving quilts, bags, garments, curtains and home décor projects room to move.
Attach the supplied extra-wide table to create an even larger supported work surface. Supporting the weight of the project helps reduce drag and prevents heavy fabric from pulling away from the needle.
The streamlined machine head also improves visibility around the needle and presser foot.
Janome’s AcuFeed Flex system works with the machine’s lower feed dogs to guide the upper and lower fabric layers together.
This helps reduce shifting when quilting, matching checks or stripes, sewing long seams and working with layered or difficult fabrics.
The twin AcuFeed holder and AD foot are included. Additional AcuFeed feet are available for piecing, stitch-in-the-ditch quilting, open-toe sewing, straight stitching and zipper insertion.
Helps move the quilt top, batting and backing more evenly.
Supports alignment when sewing checks, stripes and printed fabrics.
Reduces unwanted shifting over long garment and home décor seams.
The narrow Professional Grade HP foot is inspired by industrial straight-stitch feet and provides excellent visibility around the needle and fabric edge.
Use it with the included HP needle plate for accurate quilt piecing, narrow seam allowances, curved sewing and controlled topstitching.
The HP plate has a small single needle opening that supports the fabric closely around the needle for refined straight-stitch results.
The standard zigzag plate supports the full range of utility, decorative and 9mm-wide stitches.
The straight-stitch plate provides left, centre and right needle openings for controlled straight stitching, while the HP plate works with the narrow Professional Grade HP foot.
Push the release lever, lift away the plate and position the replacement. No screws or tools are required.
The MC6700P combines computerised stitch selection with visible, industrial-inspired mechanical controls.
Set the upper-thread tension directly using the large numbered dial positioned at the front of the machine.
Fine-tune presser-foot pressure for lightweight, heavyweight, stretchy or layered fabrics.
See the current foot-pressure setting at a glance and return to preferred settings easily.
Adjust the relationship between the upper and lower feeding if layers begin to pucker or creep.
The backlit screen displays the selected stitch, recommended presser foot, suggested tension, foot-pressure setting, stitch width, stitch length and feed-dog position.
Physical controls and encoder dials surround the screen, providing a tactile interface that is quick to operate while sewing.
A detachable stitch-reference chart displays the complete stitch library above the machine and can be removed when it is not required.
The two encoder dials adjust stitch width, needle position and stitch length without relying on small plus and minus buttons.
The dials also help move through stitch selections and programmed pattern combinations, creating a faster and more tactile workflow.
Compatible stitch settings can be customised and stored as favourites for future projects.
The Memory Craft 6700P includes utility, stretch, overcasting, quilting, heirloom, satin, decorative and lettering stitches for an extensive range of sewing.
Stitch width can be adjusted up to 9mm, with 91 needle positions available for precise placement. Suitable satin stitches can be elongated up to five times while maintaining their original stitch density.
Utility, quilting, garment, heirloom and decorative options.
Eight sensor buttonholes plus one automatic buttonhole.
Block and Script lettering for labels, names and monograms.
Create bold decorative details and precise needle placement.
Extend suitable satin stitches without reducing density.
Flip compatible stitches to build balanced combinations.
Seven of the original direct-select stitch positions can be replaced with stitches you use more frequently.
Add preferred construction stitches, quilting stitches or even buttonholes to create a control layout tailored to the way you sew.
Favourite Stitch can also remember preferred width, length and other compatible adjustments.
Combine compatible decorative stitches, mirrored motifs, spaces and lettering to create personalised borders and sewing sequences.
Individual stitches within a combination can be edited, inserted, duplicated or deleted. Up to 20 stitch combinations can be stored in the machine’s memory for future use.
The MC6700P includes dedicated equipment for piecing, layered feeding and traditional free-motion quilting.
Follow the built-in guide to create consistent patchwork seam allowances.
Gain clear visibility and fabric control for precision piecing and curved seams.
Guide quilt layers from above and below during straight-line and layered sewing.
Choose closed-toe, open-toe or clear-view echo options to suit the technique.
Lower the feed dogs for free-motion quilting, thread painting and darning.
Raise the presser foot while keeping both hands on the quilt or fabric.
The MC6700P supports traditional free-motion quilting but does not include or connect to Janome’s A.S.R. Accurate Stitch Regulator.
Quilting stitch length is controlled by coordinating the machine speed with the movement of the fabric.
Two vertical spool pins and a fold-up thread-guide bar accommodate standard spools as well as larger cones commonly used for quilting, garment sewing and production work.
The dual setup makes it easier to prepare twin-needle sewing or keep two colours ready for quick changes during decorative work and thread painting.
Large, small and special spool holders, spool rests and thread nets are supplied.
Position the upper thread, lower the threading lever and release. The threader passes the thread through the eye of the needle so you can begin sewing sooner.
The top-loading Easy Set Bobbin follows a clearly marked path with a built-in cutter, reducing the need to manually draw the bobbin thread through the needle plate.
Five genuine Janome plastic bobbins are supplied with the machine.
LED lighting illuminates the needle, presser foot and surrounding flat-bed to reduce shadows across the sewing area.
The streamlined machine head creates an open view around the needle, helping with precise seam placement, topstitching, appliqué and free-motion work.
Cut the upper and bobbin threads together at the press of a button.
Add the optional foot-operated thread-cutter switch for hands-free trimming.
Memorise whether the needle stops raised or lowered in the fabric.
Raise and lower the presser foot while both hands remain on the project.
Sew without the foot controller and use one-touch slow sewing for control.
Secure seams and compatible decorative patterns at the touch of a button.
Wind a bobbin without unthreading the main sewing path.
Limit compatible stitch width to help protect the needle during twin-needle work.
The Memory Craft 6700P is a dedicated flat-bed machine and does not have a removable free arm.
It does not have automatic pivoting, electronic presser-foot lift, automatic tension, upper-thread sensing or bobbin-thread sensing.
It is a professional domestic sewing and quilting machine rather than a compound-feed industrial walking-foot machine. For consistently sewing extremely thick, dense or difficult materials, speak with our team so we can recommend the correct machine.
The MC6700P does not perform machine embroidery and is not compatible with Janome’s A.S.R. stitch regulator.
Explore the machine’s threading, controls, AcuFeed system, needle plates and key sewing functions in Janome’s official instructional video.
The New Zealand and Australian package equips the MC6700P for garment construction, quilting, piecing, free-motion sewing, buttonholes and decorative techniques.
The AcuFeed twin holder is also included. Some Janome literature counts the AcuFeed holder assembly when describing the package as including 17 standard feet.
