The CoverPro 3000 Professional complements your sewing machine and overlocker by completing the specialist finishing techniques those machines cannot reproduce.
Use it to create the parallel rows of stitching commonly seen on T-shirt sleeves, knit hems, sportswear, leggings and commercially manufactured garments.
Unlike a standard coverstitch machine, the CoverPro 3000 can also lay decorative thread across the top surface of the fabric. This creates a highly visible top cover stitch with industrial-style coverage on both sides of the project.
Its flat-bed design feels similar to a conventional sewing machine and provides useful workspace to the right of the needles for hemming, binding and decorative stitching away from a raw edge.

Built-in top cover stitch guide and spreader
The top cover mechanism is stored inside the machine and moves into position with a simple lever operation.
Thread passes through the spreader above the fabric, laying a decorative woven effect across the needle stitches.
When top cover stitching is finished, release the mechanism and retract it back into the machine.

Fine Mode switching lever
Fine Mode changes the machine’s internal looper-tension relationship for lightweight and highly stretchable materials.
Move the lever to FINE when sewing light jersey, fine knits and other delicate fabrics. Use STD for standard knit fabrics, woven materials and heavier projects.
This reduces the amount of trial-and-error tension adjustment normally required when moving between significantly different fabric weights.

Three needles made easier
Built-in left, centre and right needle threader
Move the selection slider to the needle being used, lower the threader and guide the thread through the hook.
The mechanism can thread the left, centre or right needle depending on the chosen stitch configuration.
A separate handy needle threader is also included with the standard accessories.
Differential feed from 0.5 to 2.25
Differential feed changes the relationship between the front and rear feed dogs.
Increase the setting when knit fabric becomes wavy or stretches as it passes beneath the foot. Reduce the setting when lightweight fabric puckers or when a deliberately stretched decorative effect is required.

Guide markings around the pressure control provide a useful reference when returning to a previous setting.

Thread chain-off capability
Triple cover stitch and top cover stitch can continue forming a thread chain after leaving the fabric.
This provides an alternative to pulling each needle thread individually through the project before tying or securing the seam.
The correct ending method depends on the selected stitch, thread and project. The instruction manual explains chain-off and conventional thread-securing methods in detail.
Ball-bearing main shaft and eight-piece feeding
Janome uses ball bearings on the main drive shaft to reduce vibration and support smoother operation.

Important information before purchasing
The CoverPro 3000 Professional is a dedicated coverstitch and chain-stitch machine. It is not a conventional sewing machine and does not sew straight stitches, zigzags, buttonholes or decorative sewing-machine patterns.
It is not an overlocker and does not trim fabric with cutting knives. An overlocker is still required for trimming and wrapping raw garment edges.
The CoverPro 3000 is manually threaded. It does not have air threading or automatic tension.
Thread tension is manually controlled through five lay-in tension dials. Fine Mode assists with lightweight fabrics but does not replace correct threading, needles, thread and test sewing.
It is a domestic professional-style machine intended for garment making and creative sewing rather than continuous industrial production.

What is a coverstitch machine used for?
A coverstitch machine creates flexible professional hems, bindings, elastic applications and decorative seams, particularly on knit and stretch garments.
What makes the CoverPro 3000 different from an ordinary coverstitch machine?
It adds a built-in top cover stitch guide and spreader, allowing decorative thread coverage to be formed on the upper fabric surface as well as underneath.
How many needles and threads can it use?
It can sew with one, two or three needles and with two, three, four or five threads depending on the selected stitch.
Can it sew a normal cover hem?

No. The CoverPro 3000 does not have overlocker cutting knives. The fabric edge should be prepared before coverstitching.
Is it an overlocker?
No. An overlocker trims and wraps raw edges. The CoverPro creates professional hems, chain stitches and top cover stitching.
Can it replace a normal sewing machine?
No. It does not sew standard lockstitches, zigzags, buttonholes or ordinary sewing-machine patterns.
Does it have air threading?
