Fitting and use

• Follow the foot instructions for stitch and needle position. With the machine switched off, turn the handwheel slowly to check that the needle clears the foot before sewing.

A simple fitting check

1. Find your model. Read the full model name on the front of the machine or its identification label.
2. Match the fitting. Top loading means the bobbin drops in from above. Front loading means you open a front cover and remove a bobbin case. Shank means the height of the foot attachment.
3. Check the exact part. Match the number above and read any holder, needle plate or version requirements.
