Access beyond a flat bed
Work around the shape.
The cylinder bed leaves room below the sewing area, allowing suitable curved or tubular pieces to sit around the arm instead of being spread across a broad flat bed. This can help when positioning leather goods, bags and bulky assembled sections.
The long-arm layout also provides space for managing larger pieces as you follow the seam.
Choose the machine for the whole job.
Extra-heavy construction is useful when your work calls for heavier materials and substantial stitching. It is not a substitute for checking access, needle size, thread and the complete seam stack.

Control, capacity and stitch definition.
Greater bobbin capacity is useful on longer seams, particularly with heavier thread. The usable thread range still depends on the needle and machine setup.
The supplied servo motor gives you speed control for deliberate stitching. Use a working speed appropriate to the material, seam and operator.
15mm lift is clearance—not a guaranteed sewing thickness. It helps you place work beneath the presser foot. Material hardness, compression, layer count and needle/thread choice determine what can be sewn successfully.

What is the advantage of the cylinder arm?
It provides space beneath the sewing area so suitable shaped or tubular work can sit around the arm. Check that your actual opening and seam position can pass around the cylinder.
Can it sew every type of heavy leather?
No single thickness figure guarantees suitability. Leather hardness, layer count, seam construction and thread all affect the result. Have your intended work assessed and test the seam before production.
