DYLON Wash & Dye Instructions
- Wearing rubber gloves, empty the Wash & Dye powder into the washing machine drum and add dry fabric.
- Immediately run a 40°C cotton cycle without pre-wash or economy setting.
- Add normal washing detergent and run another 40°C cotton cycle to remove excess dye from the fabric and clean the machine.
- Dry fabric as normal, away from direct sunlight and direct heat.
Colour Shade Information
The final colour result will depend on several factors:
Fabric Type
- Cotton, linen and viscose will dye to the full shade
- Polyester/cotton and polyester/viscose blends will dye to lighter shades
- Wool, silk, polyester, acrylic, nylon and specialist fabrics cannot be dyed effectively
Fabric Amount
- Up to 500g of fabric, such as one pair of jeans, will dye to the full shade
- A maximum of 1kg can be dyed for lighter shades
Original Fabric Colour
Colour mixing rules apply. For example:
- Black dye on red fabric may result in burgundy tones
- Patterned fabrics may still show through after dyeing
Helpful Hints
- Only dye up to 1kg of fabric at a time
- Always use the full pack for best results
- Dyeing may not fully cover stains, bleach marks or heavily faded areas
- Wash dyed fabrics separately for the first few washes
- Polyester stitching and threads may remain their original colour
- If any dye remains in the machine, run an empty 40°C cycle with household bleach and detergent to clean the drum
