Follow your pattern’s hook or needle size and tension. Amigurumi often needs a firm fabric; make a small sample and check that stuffing does not show between stitches.
Plan your colours before you start
Work out the metreage for each shade separately, divide by 43 and round up to a whole ball. Allow for swatching and any extra length or changes to the design. Buying the full project quantity together helps keep dye lots consistent.

Is this suitable for knitting as well as crochet?
Yes. DMC recommends 4mm knitting needles and a 3mm crochet hook. Your chosen pattern and swatch determine the size you should use.
How many balls do I need?
That depends on the project and the amount of each colour. Each ball contains approximately 43m; use the quantities or metreage given in your pattern.
