How the hooks fit the included cables
All four supplied cables are Small [S]. Hooks from 3.50–5.00mm attach directly. Hooks from 5.50–10.00mm have a Large [L] join and use one of the included Large-to-Small adapters.
The hooks can also be paired with other compatible ChiaoGoo cables of the matching connection size. MINI [M] is a separate system. Components from other brands should not be assumed compatible.
Set up your first project
- Choose the hook size recommended by your pattern and check your tension with a swatch.
- Select a cable long enough to hold your working row comfortably. The listed 20, 35 and 55cm measurements refer to the cable alone.
- Attach the hook, using an included adapter for sizes 5.50mm and above. Secure the join with a tightening key.
- Fit an end stopper to the free cable end for flat Tunisian crochet, then follow your pattern’s forward and return passes.

Is this a knitting needle set?
No. This is a Tunisian crochet hook set. Each size is supplied as one hook, not a pair of knitting needles.
Are 7mm and 7.5mm included?
No. The included sizes go from 6.50mm to 8.00mm. Use the exact size table above when checking a pattern.
Can I use it for wider blankets?
Yes. The cable carries the live stitches and the included connectors allow cables to be joined. Choose a setup that holds the row comfortably without crowding the joins.
Do I need to buy adapters to start?
No. The set includes the adapters needed to connect its larger hooks to the supplied Small [S] cables.
How should I store the hooks?
Wipe the bamboo with a soft dry cloth and keep the hooks in their labelled pockets. Avoid soaking the bamboo or bending the cable sharply at its metal join.
