Enhanced sewing power
Improved needle penetration supports denim, canvas, layered seams and heavier home projects.
Sew everyday garments, stretch fabrics, denim, canvas, home furnishings and creative projects with a compact machine designed to deliver extra penetration and control. The Brother TY600C combines 50 built-in stitches, five one-step buttonholes, electronic speed control, lock stitch, drop feed and a self-levelling zigzag foot.
The Brother TY600C is designed for sewists who want straightforward electronic operation together with extra strength for demanding home projects.
Its fixed needle bar and enhanced motor provide improved penetration when working across denim, canvas, layered seams and heavier home-furnishing materials.
The same machine can also sew delicate fabrics, formalwear, jersey, Lycra and swimwear when fitted with the correct needle, thread and settings.
Fifty built-in stitches cover everyday construction, stretch sewing, decorative work, patchwork, quilting and buttonholes without overwhelming the user with unnecessary complexity.
The Brother TY600C offers more power than a basic lightweight sewing machine, but it remains a domestic machine rather than an industrial walking-foot or compound-feed model.
It is suitable for ordinary garment denim, canvas, home décor, layered fabrics and many bags when the correct needle and thread are used.
Thick leather, dense webbing, heavy upholstery assemblies and continuous commercial production require a suitable industrial machine.
Improved needle penetration supports denim, canvas, layered seams and heavier home projects.
Sew utility, stretch, quilting, satin, cross-stitch and decorative patterns.
Create five styles of automatically sized one-step buttonholes.
Guide the upper thread through the needle eye with minimal effort.
Set a comfortable maximum speed for beginners, curves and detailed work.
Choose where the needle stops for turning corners and positioning fabric.
Secure suitable stitch patterns without sewing a visible reverse section.
Lower the feed dogs for free-motion quilting, darning and thread drawing.
The TY600C combines enhanced motor power with a fixed needle bar for improved needle penetration.
This makes it better suited than many entry-level machines to denim hems, canvas, home décor and layered garment seams.
Its included self-levelling zigzag foot also helps the machine climb over bulky seam intersections.
When the front of a standard presser foot reaches a thick seam, the foot can tilt backwards and lose firm contact with the feed dogs.
The levelling button on the included Zigzag Foot J temporarily holds the foot level while the machine begins crossing the bulky section.
Release the button once the complete foot is supported by the thicker material.
Ordinary straight stitching can break when a stretchy garment is pulled over the body.
The TY600C includes stretch stitches designed to flex with jersey, rib knit, swim fabric and other elastic materials.
Use a suitable stretch or ballpoint needle and test the selected stitch on a project offcut before beginning the garment.
Utility, stretch, quilting, satin, cross-stitch and decorative options.
The built-in library covers the most useful construction and decorative applications for everyday home sewing.
Stitch width and length can be adjusted electronically to suit fabric weight, thread and the intended result.
Turn the electronic jog dial to choose a stitch from the numbered chart on the front of the machine.
The 62 × 23.5mm LCD displays the selected stitch, width, length and recommended presser foot.
Separate buttons allow width and length to be adjusted without navigating complicated menus.
The TY600C can sew at speeds up to 850 stitches per minute for garments, curtains, patchwork and home projects.
Use the speed slider to limit the maximum speed for beginners, appliqué, curves and detailed sewing.
The machine can be operated using the supplied foot controller or the start and stop button.
Efficient performance with electronic control over the maximum sewing speed.
Press the reinforcement button to secure the beginning or end of a seam.
Depending on the selected stitch, the machine sews either reverse stitches or compact locking stitches in place.
Lock stitching is particularly useful for quilting, appliqué, decorative patterns and visible top stitching.
Set the needle to stop in the fabric when sewing stops.
This allows the project to be turned around the needle without losing the exact stitch position.
Needle-down stopping is useful for corners, curves, patchwork, appliqué and controlled top stitching.
Follow the marked upper-thread route and operate the threading lever to guide thread through the needle eye.
The one-finger system reduces the need to manually pass fine thread through the eye of the needle.
It is particularly useful during projects involving frequent thread-colour changes.
Drop the bobbin into the horizontal bobbin case, follow the marked thread path and trim the excess thread.
The machine can begin sewing without manually raising the bobbin thread through the needle plate.
A transparent bobbin cover makes it easy to check how much thread remains.
Place the button into the supplied buttonhole foot and allow the machine to determine the required buttonhole length.
The complete buttonhole is sewn in one continuous operation for consistent sizing.
Five styles provide options for shirts, jackets, stretch fabrics and decorative projects.
The TY600C includes five one-step buttonhole styles. Earlier wording showing eight styles should be removed.
Seven feed-dog points maintain broad contact with the underside of the material.
The extended feed system supports smooth fabric movement across formalwear, swim fabrics, quilting cotton, denim and general garment materials.
Correct presser-foot pressure, needle choice and fabric handling remain important when working with unusually fine or bulky projects.
The TY600C is not a large-throat quilting machine, but it provides the essential controls required for patchwork, appliqué and smaller quilting projects.
Add an optional 1/4-inch foot for consistent quilt seam allowances.
Lower the feed dogs and add a compatible free-motion quilting foot.
Add an optional walking foot to help move multiple quilt layers together.
Use adjustable speed, needle-down control and satin stitches for detailed shapes.
Secure stitches cleanly without a visible reverse section.
Increase fabric support for patchwork, curtains and larger projects.
Remove the accessory compartment to expose the free arm.
This makes sleeves, trouser hems, cuffs and other circular areas easier to position around the machine bed.
Refit the compartment for a larger flat surface during ordinary sewing.
The TY600C includes the essential feet required for garment construction, buttonholes, zips, overcasting, blind hemming, decorative sewing and attaching buttons.
The Brother TY600C is a domestic computerised sewing machine rather than an industrial heavy-duty machine.
It includes 50 built-in stitches and five automatic one-step buttonhole styles.
Maximum stitch width is 7mm. Maximum stitch length is approximately 5mm.
The machine has a built-in manual side thread cutter. It does not have an automatic electronic thread-cutting button.
The included self-levelling foot helps cross bulky seam changes but does not provide walking-foot or compound-feed action.
The wide extension table, walking foot, 1/4-inch foot and free-motion quilting foot are available separately.
Always match the needle type and size to the material and test thick assemblies by turning the handwheel before sewing at speed.
