Spend Less Time Changing Thread and More Time Embroidering

Unlike a single-needle embroidery machine, the PR680W can keep six different thread colours loaded and automatically move between the assigned needles. That makes multi-colour designs, repeat logos and personalised orders easier to organise.

01

Six Thread Colours Ready

Prepare six needles with the colours required for the design and reduce manual rethreading between colour changes.

02

Crosshair Laser Placement

Project a crosshair onto the fabric to check the design position and angle before embroidery begins.

03

Large Embroidery Area

The 200 × 300 mm maximum field accommodates substantial logos, lettering and decorative designs.

04

High-Speed Embroidery

Embroider at up to 1,000 stitches per minute, with rapid acceleration for productive repeat work.

05

Wireless Workflow

Send compatible designs from a computer and receive machine-status notifications on a supported mobile device.

06

Included Stand

The Direct Sewing package includes a purpose-built stand for a stable, organised embroidery workstation.

One Embroidery Head, Six Needles

The six needles automate colour changes within one embroidery design.

6 colours Prepared and ready to sew
Automatic changes The machine selects the assigned needle
Less rethreading Especially helpful for repeat designs
10.1-inch HD colour touchscreen

Preview, Position and Edit Designs at the Machine

The large high-definition screen provides a clear view of the loaded design and access to Brother’s embroidery editing tools. Swipe navigation and clear on-screen controls make it easier to prepare a job without repeatedly returning to a computer.

  • Preview thread colours and the embroidery sequence

  • Use Colour Sort to reduce unnecessary colour changes in combined designs

A large colour display keeps editing, colour assignment and job control within easy reach.
Crosshair Embroidery Droplight Laser

Check Placement Before the First Stitch

The PR680W projects a crosshair onto the hooped item, showing the embroidery position and angle. This makes it easier to align names, chest logos, monograms and decorative designs accurately.

  • Shows the intended needle-drop position on the fabric
  • Helps identify designs that are slightly angled
  • Useful for left-chest logos and personalised placement
  • Reduces guesswork when aligning the hooped item
  • Complements the on-screen preview and position controls
Placement still begins with good hooping

The crosshair laser is an alignment aid. Correct stabilising, hoop selection and secure hooping remain important for clean, accurate embroidery.

Frequently asked questions

Brother PR680W Questions and Answers

Does the PR680W embroider six items at the same time?

No. The PR680W has one embroidery head with six needles. The six needles hold different thread colours so the machine can change colours automatically within one embroidery design.

What is the advantage of six needles?

Up to six thread colours can remain prepared on the machine. This reduces manual rethreading and makes multi-colour designs and repeat embroidery jobs easier to manage.

What is the maximum embroidery area?

The maximum embroidery area is 200 × 300 mm. The actual usable area for a project depends on the selected frame and embroidery design.

How fast does the PR680W embroider?

It can embroider at up to 1,000 stitches per minute. The appropriate speed depends on the design, thread, fabric, needle and frame being used.

What does the crosshair laser do?

The Crosshair Embroidery Droplight projects the intended needle-drop position and alignment onto the fabric. This helps check the location and angle of the design before stitching.

Can designs be transferred wirelessly?

Yes. Brother Design Database Transfer can send compatible embroidery files from a supported computer to the PR680W over a compatible wireless network.

What does the My Stitch Monitor app do?

My Stitch Monitor provides supported mobile-device alerts about machine status, including when a colour change is required, an issue needs attention or the embroidery is complete.

Which embroidery file formats can it read?

Brother specifies PES, PHC and DST embroidery files for the PR680W. DST files do not contain complete thread-colour information, so the colour sequence should be checked before embroidery.

Does it have built-in lettering?

Yes. The PR680W includes 50 lettering fonts and 18 monogramming styles, with on-screen controls for arranging and editing text.

Does built-in lettering digitise customer logos?

No. Built-in lettering creates text and monograms. Customer logos and detailed artwork normally need to be professionally digitised into a compatible embroidery file.

Which embroidery frames are included?

The standard package includes 300 × 200 mm, 180 × 130 mm, 100 × 100 mm and 60 × 40 mm tubular embroidery frames.

Is the machine stand included?

Yes. The Direct Sewing PR680W package includes a purpose-built machine stand.

Can the PR680W embroider caps?

Yes, when fitted with the compatible optional Brother PR cap-frame system. Cap rings and drivers are not part of the standard four-frame package.

What embroidery thread do you recommend?

Direct Sewing stocks Madeira Polyneon embroidery thread , a professional polyester thread suitable for garments, workwear and frequently washed embroidered items.

Does Direct Sewing provide support?

Yes. Direct Sewing provides practical operating guidance, local servicing and after-sales technical support from its Auckland showroom and workshop.

What warranty applies to the PR680W?

Direct Sewing currently lists a five-year warranty for domestic use and one year for commercial purposes. Warranty conditions and eligibility should be confirmed when purchasing.
