Ask us anything →How do I choose the right yarn weight?+
Start with the pattern’s named weight and metreage. Use fibre, drape and care requirements to narrow the choice, then swatch before committing.
What is the difference between 4 ply and DK?+
New Zealand 4 ply is a finer yarn commonly used for socks, babywear and lightweight garments. DK or 8 ply is a versatile medium weight used for garments, blankets and accessories.
Should I choose wood or metal needles?+
Wood offers warmth and gentle control; metal gives faster glide and precision. The best option depends on your yarn, tension and how you like to knit.
Can you help me calculate yarn quantities?+
Yes. Send us your pattern, chosen size and intended yarn. We’ll help compare total metreage and allow for swatching and adjustments.
