Invisible, dress, trouser or open-end?
An invisible zip conceals its coil within the seam. Dress and trouser zips are closed-end and remain joined at the bottom. Vislon open-end zips separate completely for jacket or coat openings. Match the construction in your pattern or the zip being replaced, rather than choosing by length alone.
