Measure your machine before choosing a bag
Measure the full width, height and depth as the machine will be packed, including the handwheel, handle, controls and any fixed spool pins. Remove detachable extension tables or accessories where your machine instructions allow, and allow clearance for loading and closing the zip. Compare these measurements with the bag's usable internal space. External dimensions include lining, padding and trolley components, so they do not guarantee that a machine of the same size will fit.
Carry bags and sewing machine cases
A carry bag keeps a compatible machine and its essentials together for short journeys and covered storage. The Singer carry cases list internal space of 46cm wide × 33cm high × 26cm deep; their fitting guidance excludes the Singer EM9305. Janome and Gütermann x Birch Blooms bags have different dimensions, so check the individual listing. A product described as a case is not automatically a rigid hard-shell case.
Wheeled trolleys for classes and workshops
A trolley reduces carrying over suitable smooth surfaces and provides space for the controller, lead and smaller accessories. Compare Singer and Birch rolling bags with the Large and Extra Large trolley options. Those two listings give approximate external measurements of 51 × 38 × 28cm and 63 × 43 × 30cm respectively; confirm usable internal clearance before choosing. Use the designated carry handles when lifting over steps or into a vehicle, following the bag's instructions.
Will an overlocker or quilting machine fit?
Overlockers can be taller or deeper than a standard sewing machine, especially with a thread stand raised. The range includes a Janome overlocker carry bag; check its internal dimensions against your exact machine. Larger quilting and sewing-and-embroidery machines need extra care when measuring. An Extra Large label does not establish compatibility with every large model.
Dust covers versus travel bags
A dust cover sits over a machine between sewing sessions; it does not provide a carrying system. The Janome vinyl cover 846806000 is listed for MC6500P and MC6600P machines. Check the model and current availability rather than treating it as a universal cover. Store machines and bags in a clean, dry indoor space.
Pack accessories separately
Use suitable pockets or pouches for the foot controller, power lead, bobbins and presser feet so loose hard items cannot move against the machine. Secure sharp tools and keep the packed bag upright during vehicle travel. Follow the bag's care and transport instructions, and check whether accessories shown in photographs are included.
