What makes Grunge different from a plain solid?
Grunge is a printed cotton blender with a layered, distressed colour effect. It gives a quilt more visual movement than a flat solid, while remaining easier to coordinate than many large-scale prints. It is not a fabric surface that has been physically worn away.
Build a balanced quilting palette
Start with a background, a mid-tone and an accent. Pale neutrals can separate busy prints; deeper blue, green or purple shades add contrast. Warm golds, reds and browns bring energy to borders and focal blocks. Compare value as well as colour so the piecing remains visible.
Fabric width and ordering
These listings are 100% cotton quilting fabric, approximately 112cm wide, sold by the metre. Quantity 1 means one metre; check the individual listing before ordering. Multiple metres are supplied continuously where possible. Plan extra length for squaring, seam allowances and any cutting layout rather than relying only on the finished quilt size.
