How to use French General Solids
Use these coordinates to give traditional prints room to breathe, build calm backgrounds or frame a favourite fabric with a complementary border. Although called Solids, the range has a subtle textured look rather than the completely flat appearance of an unprinted plain fabric.
Choose a background and an accent
Pearl, Oyster, Tea and Roche are useful starting points for a neutral foundation. Explore Rouge, Faded Red, Garance or Bordeaux for warmer accents, and Ciel Blue, French Blue, Woad Blue or Indigo for cooler contrast. Verte and Lavender add gentle colour without needing a bold print.
Order the right amount
The fabric is 100% cotton and approximately 112cm wide. It is sold by the metre: quantity 1 is one metre, quantity 2 is two metres. Multiple metres are supplied as one continuous length where possible. Confirm the exact listing and allow for the cutting layout, seams and any shrinkage appropriate to your preparation method.
