Choose the effect: Compare the finish as well as the thread number. Sparkling, Smooth and FS Metallic 40 give different surface effects. Glamour No. 12 is a heavyweight effect thread for prominent texture and suitable open designs. Check the listing before substituting one range for another.
Match the needle & design: Needle recommendations vary by range: the GoldenSilver listings specify NM 90/14 metallic needles, while Glamour No. 12 specifies NM 100/16 embroidery needles. Follow the selected thread and machine instructions, then sample the design, fabric, stabiliser, speed and tension together.
