Machine Appliqué Supplies NZ
MACHINE APPLIQUÉ · POSITION · STITCH
Prepare and stitch fabric shapes with machine-appliqué feet and sewable or positioning fusible supplies. Match the foot to your machine, then choose the adhesive format and fabric-care requirements for your project.
Choosing machine-appliqué feet and fusible supplies
Choose the foot for your machine: Open-toe, appliqué and selected satin-stitch feet can improve visibility or support the chosen decorative stitch. Match the exact machine model, part number, mounting, holder and stitch-width requirements. A shared brand or snap-on description does not establish universal compatibility.
Prepare the shape with the right adhesive: The selection includes HeatnBond Lite, FeatherLite and Soft Stretch Lite formats, Lite Steam-A-Seam sheets and rolls, and Clover fusible web tapes. Choose the format and formula for the fabric and task. Use stitching only as directed by that exact product; no-sew UltraHold products are outside this selection.
Separate woven and stretch needs: Compare the adhesive’s stated fabric use, handle and care directions. Sheets can suit traced or printed shapes, rolls offer larger working lengths, and narrow tapes serve specific positioning jobs. Test the chosen adhesive on scrap fabric and use the stated pressing time, temperature and steam requirements.
Test the finished setup: Follow the machine and foot instructions for needle position, stitch width and clearance. With the machine switched off, turn the handwheel as directed to check the needle path before sewing. Practise the stitch and tension on a sample of the actual prepared layers, then follow the finished project’s care guidance.
